Every time I get any sim to prepare a meal or have a meal, they cook it and then put it straight in the fridge, even when they are very hungry, unless I direct them to eat it straight away. The only way they eat straight away is if they are directed to have a quick meal. Are they all anorexic?

 
I was bought a new computer for my birthday.Intel Core Duo 2.80GHz, with NVIDEA GE Force 8400 GS card, and I thought great, now all my problems with Sims2 are solved! Boy was I wrong! Unfortunately my old computer caught a virus and the whole hard drive was corrupted before I could transfer all of my Sims2 stuff to CD`s, so I had to install the game completely from scratch. I installed all of the packs up to Mansion and Garden and the only custom content I have so far installed are Maxis recolours and a few mods. As soon as I go into a house to buy basic furniture, the buy mode freezes on the third item selected and the stupid egg timer just goes round forever. I disabled all of the mods, cleared the cache files and still the same problem. This is driving me nuts! Any ideas? 10th April 2009, I used Clean Installer to have another look in my downloads folder and found the problem (which was occuring in Misc Kids.). I deleted some files I had from Sim Addict (Maxis matching items, Nursery) and so far have had no further problems. Fingers and toes crossed!

It was definitely a RAM problem. I have taken out all of my downloads and just reinstalled a few things(Insim being one essential) and the game is running OK, although it does run quite slow at times and has the odd hiccup. I will not be adding any more downloads until I have a new computer with lots of RAM.(Any offers?) My five year old processor will not accept any more RAM so it does mean a hefty layout in order to play the game with all expansions. :smt120

I have tried running the game with only Maxis recolours and the game still crashes. I have looked at the error logs and it seems to be a problem with audio files, but I have no idea how to deal with this. It seems to pick out Karaoke and Disco Booth and states that there are duplicates of the sound, but I don`t know how to find the problem. How do I attach the log to this post? I have tried several times but it keeps coming up as Invalid file.:worship:

After a lot of messing about, getting rid of a lot of downloads, unistalling and re-installing AL, running SimPe GUID scanner, and disabling duplicate package files, (Most of which were Maxis), I tried to play again, and as soon as I start furnishing a house in any neighbouhood, after placing a few items, the game crashes. I also noticed that the swing is missing from the buy catalogue. The only swing available is the garden swing of bliss and harmony. Am I ever going to be able to play this expansion pack, or is now the time to give up? I installed the AL patch and that hasn`t helped. I had previously installed the unofficial patch from Pescado. Could this be a conflict? Can anyone tell me why this damn game has caused so much trouble?  I am heading for a breakdown.:sad4:

I took out all my downloads as advised, re-started the game.  Tried to play a family from the previous expansion and the load screen kept loading for about 30 mins. I gave up and restarted the computer. When I went to clear the cache files again (I do this before I start the game), I noticed that the accessory cache files were again at 6240kb. It seems that every time the game crashes, it does so at this exact point. I checked the neigjhbourhood files using Clean Installer and found a few empty packages, which I deleted. I also noticed in the collections folders that several of the expansion pack collections were duplicated and highlighted in pink. Is this a problem? Should I delete the the duplicates?  Or should I give up and uninstall the game? If I do have to uninstall, do I have to uninstall all of the expansions and stuff packs or just AL? I would really appreciate any help as I am totally lost!:sad4:

Since my last post, I have discovered that the "Appliication has crashed and will now terminate" error happens when I am browsing through the buy catalogue. I noticed in clean installer that some items (Freezer  Bunny, Karaoke and some other items), were highlighted in red. I have disabled them and will see if this is what was causing the issue.:study:

Before I installed AL, I disabled all of my hacks and mods via clean installer and then when I found updated versions, I added them back in, including the updated Insim. When I managed to get the game running, after one aborted attempt(I forgot to delete the cache files), I decide to delete some objects that I no longer wanted, to improve my loading times. I had deleted about half a dozen items and then an error box appeared, telling me the application had crashed and was being terminated. Is this because I was deleting objects "in game"?

I was playing the original Capp couple Reagan and her husband, she is now pregnant. All of a sudden, I got a message for each that they were about to grow up and I should plan  birthday parties and buy them cakes! Ihey are still in the early stages of their adult life and are nowhere near becoming elders. Is this a Freetime thing or something else? The other issue I have had is trying to woo-hoo in the car. The couple leap out and just stand on the driveway looking at each other. I have the Insimenator and a few other mods.:smt120:worship:

Has anyone else noticed table interactions missing or is it just me? No options appear for flirt or play when dining with two of my sims who have 100 on their relationship with each other.

I have sent two of my sims to the hotel on Twikki Island. They can order room service, but can`t sit in the restaurant and order food. They keep bouncing out of their seats and can`t order food. So I send them back to their room and order room service. Then if they leave the hotel to take a tour or walk to another lot the option "pay dining bill and leave" pops up and they are being charged for a meal they didin`t have. Also their room is the only one now with any furniture. All of the other rooms are showing as totally empty. I have removed insimenator and all custom food and plates. I have removed groups cache, cigen and accesories cache and can`t think what else to do. I have run clean installer and disabled most of my mods. Do I have to take out all of my downloads completely?
