1  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Re: Brandi Broke? on: December 25, 2009, 05:38:45 pm
According the programming, you can resurrect all the dead sims who have a tomb in any of the hoods. Skip doesn't have a tomb (like Bella), therefore you can't resurrect him.

You can do it using the SimPe, but it's a complicated procedure, and I don't recommend it. Besides, he is a Romance sim (Brandy is a Family), and a lot of "troubles" will follow.

Usually, I create a custom sim, and match him to Brandy. As Brandy is an Aries, she fits with Gemini or Taurus. Knowledge or Fortune sim will be quite faithful to Brandy.
2  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Please...Is there any way to restore files??!! on: June 22, 2009, 09:32:21 am
Oh my, I really feel your anger and sorrow. If it would happen to me, I would cry too - I worked over several years to collect items! Cry

For the future: never ever never drag a folder from/to the game to the desktop, or anywhere. First, copy it, then pass to driver D and paste it. Check if it has the right files, then go back to the game, and delete the folder.

There is a way to restore the Downloads folder, but it demands an outside  packaged lot, in which you used the custom objects.
For instance, I always package my lots to files, and after they are sent to the PackagedLots folder - I copy and paste the folder to driver D, just to be sure that the custom content won't be lost.

Now, if you lost your Downloads folder (as you did) - just install several lots you built and used there custom content. When you install them, all the downloads you used will appear in your Downloads folder.

So Sorry... Cry

As you have Bon Voyage EP, it's the protection of the Securom. Any change in the computers files prevents starting the game. Even surfing on the Net.

When you are going to play TS2, restart your computer, and start the game from the Start Menu (not clicking on the shortcut).

I'm still looking for a place to get Bella's parents, because you can't extract them with SimPE... Cheesy

Paden, once I moved all Goth' ghosts tombs to the cemetary in Downtown (wanted to redecorate the house and the yard), then moved them back by Mortie.
I had a sim with an O'Nomitron, and called him to visit. Took the O'Nomitron (made him selectable), and ordered Mortie to call the Grim Reaper. He could ressurect all the dead sims who had a tomb.

Soshoutori, I like to marry Komei to a beautiful female, because all his genes are recesive, and the kids look like the mother. Did it many times - thus I get pretty kids...Smiley. And it succeeded with the dead girl too.

Edit: Oooops, didn't notice that you search for Bella's parents, who don't have tombs...Smiley. You can clone them with the Enhanser (there is a cloning lab there).
Searched for you a link, but the site "dissapeared"...Smiley

The two times I was excited to play TS2 were:

1) When I downloaded the TS1 families to play them in TS2; the Goths were young, with only Cassie as a kid, and Bella and Mortie were pretty and charming; the Newbiews were young, without any kids yet; I downloaded about 10 families - most of them from SlicedSims, but you can find them too in the EA TS2 site. If you want some, e-mail me, and I'll send them to you.

2) When I decided to resurrect the Tricou family, together with the young dead girl in The House of the Falling Leaves (downtown), which I married to Komei.
I had to send one of the Tricou live teens (look for a pretty girl with a round hat) to college, found her a paranormal job, she resurrected Jonatan, and he resurrected all the others.
Here you have to use the SimPe, change their turn ons/offs, and their aspirations (pleasure and romance). But when changed, they are beautiful family...Smiley.

And I wanted to say that I am glad about Engram's instructions...Smiley. Because I myself tried it, and it didn't work with the sims packages, and I had to "trick" with the TS2 game.

Sorry I misled you, Kenadie, and I am glad that you succeeded to install the custom content. Thanks, Engram. cool

Well, that's not so good - bad, to be honest...Smiley.

1) You can download only plain files (DBPF). You can't download packaged files, and do the trick I showed you above. It means, you can download clothing, objects, walls, floors - anything that doesn't demand "install".

2) The files have to be compatible with TS2 game (file that demands higher EP won't work), max - Uni (not sure).

3) You have to extract the file on your desktop, copy it and paste it in your Downloads folder (create one).

4) If you have a friend with TS2 on her computer, you can send her the packaged files, and ask her to install them (as I showed above), and send to you the DBPF files. Now you can paste them in SavedSims folder (create one). The sim will show up in your CAS.

Sorry...Smiley.

The Clean Installer is connected by default to the TS2 game. You shall find your sim in SavedSims folder of TS2. Don't use it to install custom contene to SLS - it will go automatically to TS2 game.

If you want to put this sim in SLS, do this.

1) Select all your downloads in the Download folder, and put them in a new folder. Thus, what will be installed outside the new folder, will belong to the sims (skin, eyes, clothing).

2) Select all you SavedSims folder, and put them in a new folder. Thus, all what is installed outside the new folder, belongs to your sim.

3) Copy all the files, and put them in a folder on your desktop.

4) Paste the files in the SLS Downloads folder, or SavedSims folder (you have to create them), in My Documents/Electronic Arts/SLS/Downloads or SavedSims.

Now the sim will appear in your CAS (create a sim).
9  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Knowledge aspiration sims... all criminals on: January 19, 2009, 11:24:28 pm
It's an inheritance from The Sims 1...Smiley. If you played it - all the sims, at the top of their present job stage, were forced to change job (they got a sudden message), thus each sim got all the jobs available, and reached through them max skills. I liked this round very much.

Military changed to Athletics, Criminals changed to Business (lol), and Science sims changed to Criminals...Smiley.
10  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Big Problem With The Sim! on: December 19, 2008, 09:34:22 am
My sims game will not start. angry I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the game, but I put all the files back. Was that wrong? I need my sims and downloads. I  really need my game!

Also: try to start your game without any custom content first and see if this solves the problem.

And:  Restart your computer before activating the game, in case it's a Securom problem. Securom is very sensitive to changes in the game folders, or any other folders (not connected to the game).

13  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Hacks that work well together on: November 13, 2008, 12:31:35 am
If you have only TS2 without expansions, you have to use only compatible hacks with  TS2. Enter MATY, to this page - http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs/old/hacks/
see the hacks, and choose your ones. I usually choose a hack, click on it as to save, highlight the RTFM line and open it, to see what the hack does. If it's useful, I download it.

Hacks updated for expansion packs may  not work with basic  game. The hacks I linked you to, are only  for the basic game.
14  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Just wondering.. on: October 07, 2008, 09:43:54 pm
I read in  another  forum  about the  vanish of Pleasantview, especially, after installing H&M stuff pack. That's why I take care to save my whole TS2 folder, before installing any new EP. You never know which surprises EA prepared for you...Smiley.
15  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Please Help on: October 05, 2008, 07:16:18 pm
Try to flat the terrain with "moveobjects on", but don't forget to pass again  to "moveobjects off". And begin to flat from the road inside.
I remember doing it in TS1, in the Goth's house. In TS2 I always choose a flat terrain hood.
