1  Simmers' Paradise / The Shape of Stuff to Come / WARLOKK'S MILLA J WITH BLOOM'S SEXY FEET on: November 18, 2010, 12:54:22 am
Thanks to Bloom's generous assistance, there is now a full body, sexy feet nude for Warlokk's Milla J body shape.
The mesh and some undies/swimwear is posted at ISA:
*Admin note: We are a pg-13 site and, as clearly stated in our rules, there shall be no direct linking to any adult sites. Link removed*

It's a stand alone mesh so it won't mess up any old block feet textures you may have. I'd be interested in feedback if anyone wants to try it out.

Thanks
2  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Advice on converting teen to adult mesh? on: November 11, 2010, 11:36:03 pm
I recently requested information about an adult female full body mesh which it turns out doesn't exist except as a teen mesh.
In short, I would like to know how easy or difficult it would be to make the conversion from teen to adult.

I've never worked with meshes at all and, apart from this possible project have no wish to nor satisfactory resources.

I'm okay up to a point with SimPE, but I've never used MilkShape (which I assume I would need).
To confound matters further, I'm on a Mac, so any time I need to use SimPE I have to ferry files back and forth between my wife's Windows PC, plus I'll need her permission and assistance to install another application that she herself never uses.

Given the above impediments, do you think it's a feasible task to set myself and, if so, can anyone suggest a very simple tute that deals specifically with such a conversion? Feel free to tell me to forget about it; after all, my copy of Black Ops should arrive this weekend, so it's not as if I'm desperate for something constructive to do.

FYI, the mesh I want to convert is the Warlokk/Bloom MillaJ teen full body default size with toes (the only adult full body has block feet).

Thanks
3  Simmers' Paradise / Clothing & Body Mesh's / Request: Warlokk's Milla J with sexy feet? on: November 11, 2010, 02:45:31 am
I recently discovered a very nice replacement for the A size teen top by Bloom and based on a Warlokk body shape, Milla J. I can't think how I missed it before as it is such a lovely creation and I just had to download the adult version too (more skins to make!).
Unfortunately, I cannot find a full body mesh for the original adult version with the same sexy feet, for undies and swimwear and the like. I've scoured the ISA sister site but found nothing, so if anyone knows whether such an item exists, I would be very grateful to know where to get it from.
Thanks.
4  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Problem re-assigning mesh to skin tone - RESOLVED on: November 09, 2010, 05:28:04 am
Well, I've begun work re-assigning the female meshes used by certain skin tones using the Color Binning tool in SimPE.

The method has worked perfectly for the adult meshes, but I've run into a problem with the female teen. Currently, all my adult and teen Sims have Bloom sexy feet in the Warlokk size range.
The skin tone I am currently editing is a 34A/32 which I want to show instead as a Fashion Model adult with an A/Reg teen body shape. The FM adult was no problem, but I can't figure out how to reassign the teen bottom mesh.
The only sexy feet default teen bottom in my downloads folder is Bloom's Blooms_sexyfeetDefaultTeens_Mesh.package (the only other tfbottoms I have are block feet ones).
No doubt for very excellent reasons, the Color Binning tool won't allow me to load Bloom's all-in-one package, and I am at the limit of my understanding as far as working with SimPE goes. It doesn't help either that I am using SimPE on a non-English operating system so error messages are only partly comprehensible to me.

If anyone has any bright ideas or penetrating insights, I'd love to hear them.
Thanks.
5  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Restrict a Sim to its lot? on: November 05, 2010, 11:19:54 pm
I wonder, does anyone know of a way to prevent a Sim from appearing on lots other than the one they reside in?

Having recently discovered Bloom's Monk outfits, I'm keen to build a monastery of isolationist chocolatiers. I've also built a gaol with some custom bar fencing and gates I downloaded (there are some truly 'orrible Sims in my hood!), but of course inmates can be found wandering into other lots willy-nilly.
The only way I've found to control this is to use a visitor controller to ban Sims from lots when they appear on them, but it's not ideal to ban them from lots that they might otherwise visit after their release from incarceration!

I know, daft isn't it! Still, thanks in advance for any cool suggestions!
6  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Reassign a Skin tone's mesh? on: October 11, 2010, 09:27:34 pm
I want to know if it is possible to edit a Skin tone package file so that the Skin tone will be applied to a different mesh.

For example, say I have a Warlokk texture for his 34B36 body shape, but I want that texture to apply to his 34BN34 body shape instead.

Please do not advise me to create a new skin tone for the target mesh - I have a very specific reason for asking the above concerned with how I manipulate genetics in my game, custom Skintone changers and the like, all of which would take too long to explain!

Thanks
7  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Convert vehicle to object? on: October 11, 2010, 09:16:30 pm
Just a thought...
Is it possible to clone a custom vehicle as a non-drivable object, and still have it show any recolors for the original?

Reason I ask is, I have a custom motorcycle in a variety of finishes that all my Sim Nomads MC (AFFA!!!) own, but it would be nice to have a few hogs to park permanently outside the bar they drink at. I've tried having the bar owner purchase a few of these vehicles and place them around the lot with moveObjects on, but this is not really satisfactory.

Thanks
8  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / envi cube? on: October 11, 2010, 09:03:26 pm
This probably sounds incredibly dim but am I right in assuming that the envi cube component of some mesh creations adds some kind of surface texture or sheen to a base texture?
Therefore, for recoloring purposes, this can be omitted if desired by blacking out the alpha mask... ?
9  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Accessory Weirdness on: October 06, 2010, 11:43:27 pm
I've noticed some extremely weird things about accessories based on glasses in my game and in BodyShop. Something somewhere is definitely not right and I wonder if anyone has any thoughts on it.
I have installed Uni, OFB, NL and Pets.

The problems noted so far as follows:
• Some items appear in the game in their various categories (every day, formal, etc.) but might only appear in BodyShop once or not at all.

• One particular item from the adult site (by Bloom, rings for the female top figure, if you get my drift) won't appear at all in BodyShop and, get this, they only show on female Sims after their folder, including the mesh, is removed from my downloads folder to the desktop!

• Quite often, sandals and slippers turn blue in the game, though I think there's a fix-it tutorial for that somewhere by Numenor.

• There are also a couple of non-custom glasses items (ie. they don't have the little custom asterisk) that don't appear to do anything, one base game and another with the NightLife mark. They only appear in BodyShop and once selected, they stay selected irrespective of any other glasses/accessories I select.

Now, I don't have very much in the way of accessories, just Bloom's sandals and slippers, a few of his blah rings for the limited range of body shapes I use, and a few Tu-Tus. That's all.
There are no duplicated items to confuse matters either; my downloads folder is squeaky clean and spick-and-span!
I've tried all the usual things, removing items, re-generating the cigen.package and Accessory.cache, plus a recently performed periodic re-install of the whole game and EPs has not corrected anything.

It's a bit of a puzzle to me.
10  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Problem with eyes on: September 28, 2010, 12:40:27 am
I recently re-organised my downloads folder and removed a load of custom eyes that I no longer wanted or used, having long since decided on a very nice default replacement set and some additional shades from the same creator.
I assumed that any Sims that may have been created using eyes I had removed would revert to a default shade from my default replacement set, I didn't care which.

Now I discover that one of my Sims and her baby suddenly have those horrible Mansonesque Maxis eyes. I assume that she was created with a removed non-default eye shade, hence the revert to default, but I can't understand why it's the Maxis default and not the replacement. All other Sims continue to have the lovely default replacements so obviously there is nothing wrong with them or their location in my Downloads folder.

I've tried re-generating the Accessory.cache and the cigen.package; that didn't help.
I've tried replacing the N.hood with two back ups a month apart; neither worked.
I've tried putting the eyes I removed back into the Downloads folder and even that hasn't worked!
I've tried various combinations of the above but they still have those creepy, staring eyes.

Frustrated, I dropped a satellite on her head and giggled maniacally as the Grim Reaper dispatched her to Sim hell. Then, consumed with remorse, I quit without saving and headed off here for a fix. Until then, all I can do is give the pair of them mask contacts.

It occurs to me that the only reason I keep this game on my computer is so that I always have a problem that needs solving!
11  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / "Report *weeds* missing"? on: September 20, 2010, 08:47:03 pm
Okay, this isn't such a serious issue, but I thought I'd share:

So, (for the purposes of storytelling) one of my teens got into a bit of trouble, incurring the wrath of her parents. In shame and desperation she ran away (thanks to a Squinge mod) and I left the lot without getting her parents to call the fuzz. Well, she drifted from one friend's sofa to another and even spent a bit of time with the Son's of Anarchy... I won't go on as I'll just get told to take the topic to ISA, but you get the picture.
Eventually, she settled down with a 'nice' bloke and they started a family.

But whenever I visit the parents' lot, there in the telephone/call menu will be "Report *weeds* missing" or some such weirdness, even when she's visiting with her husband and kids for dinner... I think you'll agree, that's no way for the parents to refer to their daughter, whatever mistakes she may have made!
It's not particularly annoying, but nothing I try seems to remove the menu item.

People are strange!
12  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Hair mesh texture problem - RESOLVED, kind'a... on: September 19, 2010, 06:42:44 pm
Hi. I recently spotted some a hair recolor over at MTS2 and downloaded it. I also had to download a mesh from CoolSims so I downloaded Anto's textures for it at the same time.
Unfortunately, neither Anto's original textures, or the recolors I downloaded show on the mesh, though the mesh is visible in game:

The hair textures do not show in game, in CAS or in BodyShop.
I tried exporting the texture in BodyShop as a new project and got it to show up as custom hair. However, after I imported it into the game, it again failed to show up!
I have no experience of working with hair and would appreciate any suggestions to fix this issue.
The mesh in question is CoolSims no.32, page 5 (lady GaGa's hair)
Thanks
13  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Alpha Mesh recoloring glitches - RESOLVED on: September 12, 2010, 11:25:07 pm
Really sorry, I posted this elsewhere in the wrong section in my haste.

Anyway, this seems to be the right spot. I have a problem with recolors of alpha mesh textures and would really appreciate any thoughts on the matter. It is probably easier to show you what I mean with screen shots, but I can't get any images to load on the page!

Basically I use a lot of alpha meshes in my game, many by Bloom. But very occasionally, with Sims wearing my recolors, the game glitches and the alpha textures black out. Everything slows down and even sound effects start to echo. As soon as I get the Sims to change into non-alpha outfits, everything goes back to normal again.

"Ah, it's your video card" I hear you say, and there may be some truth in that; the GMA950 was not the best choice Apple ever made, meaning I am one of those poor unfortunates with no fish in my fish tank!
However, I think the main problem is the way that the Mac version of BodyShop renders texture packages because any original texture packages I downloaded with the meshes work just fine; they never ever glitch.

Having made that discovery, I decided to transfer my outfit packages and their original graphics as PNG files to a Windows computer with SimPE installed. I used build DXT to replace the graphics in the packages and this solved the glitching problem when they were re-imported into my game. Great!

However, although the packages (and the game) are now stable, I have noticed a feint white edge, particularly on the 'hem line' of skirts that was not visible on the original BodyShop produced packages. This is only noticeable on short dark skirt textures, especially if the outfit includes dark leg cover (tights and stockings) or with darker skin tones.
I've tried replacing the alpha channel as well as the texture, but that didn't help.
I've tried saving a copy/saving as with SimPE and that didn't help either.
I've even tried clicking a few options that were a total mystery to me... yep, a waste of time!
Is there no way to get rid of that white hem line? Will I have to abandon all the short navy skirts I made for my schoolies, have them wear white instead?
