Sure. When a company releases pictures, it's promotion. All I was saying is that maniac was just updating us and there's nothing wrong with that. And I think there's no reason to be rude or say that he's just promoting the game simply by sharing new information with us.

Just because not everyone is excited about the game doesn't mean that those people who are can't post or share anything.

Some people are interested. They just don't comment as much since most people seem to disagree. Pictures do not equal promotion. There's my 2 centsWink

Thank you for the update, maniac19642003.
18  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: Am I really the only one who is looking forward to this? on: May 26, 2009, 12:18:35 am
I'm just looking at it as a whole different game and less of an extension (definitely not as a replacement) of TS2. That's the reason I'm still excited! I'm just getting another game and not loosing a thing! I am bummed about the CC thing, but I guess I'll just deal with it as it goes.

I thought I was the only one excited about the game

D'dont worry annie your not the only one excited about the sims3 i am exicted as well and as soon as i arrive from my loacl eb game store i will be playing the sims3 all day. Wink

As am I! I can understand why people are skeptical, but it's still not managing to curb my enthusiasm.  Grin

Basically, the moral of the story is don't download it now. DO NOT WANT.
21  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: Sims3 first expansion pack on: May 18, 2009, 01:00:07 am
^ Yeah, I'm not sure I'd be too thrilled with another expansion about jobs. I have all of the expansions for 2 and I have to say that Open for Business is the one that I literally never use. Not even a little bit. I imagine this expansion for 3 would be different though as jobs work differently in this game, but I suppose we shall see ...  rolleyes
22  A Safe Haven / Quizzes / Re: What musical instrument should you play? on: May 18, 2009, 12:15:54 am
You Should Play the Saxophone

You are charismatic, friendly, and very uninhibited.
You have a lot of personal expression to bring your music.

Improvisational  and informal, you can't deal with an instrument that has too many rules or complexities.
You are much more interested in creating unique solos than immersing yourself in music theory.

You have a lot of style, and you definitely are one smooth operator.
And while you may not play perfectly, no one's going to accuse you of being boring.

Your dominant personality characteristic: being very outgoing

Your secondary personality characteristic: your flair for the unique and dramatic

What Musical Instrument Should You Play?

I think it's funny that I got the saxophone after answering that I'd play in a symphony to gain notoriety. Lol.  rolleyes

Woot! you just made my night MagicFlute Grin Grin Grin so I can go ahead and buy the game when it comes out and get the RAM at another time when I have the money? thats great news! yay I'm so excited now I have a Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3 Compaq Presario AMD Sempron Processor 3400+ 991 MHz with 448 MB of RAM currently installed I hope my game won't go rediciously slow until I can get some RAM to play the game better? Sad

Lol. No problem! Yeah, it'll probably be pretty slow, but it would still run. Definitely save up for some RAM though. You would be amazed what a difference it makes. Everything runs SO much better ...  rolleyes Makes me wish I'd gotten it sooner!

^ No. Ram essentially just makes the game run faster. You can definitely install the game and run it without having enough. Before I got more RAM (and then a whole new computer thanks to my kitty spilling water on my keyboard and frying my motherboard  angry ) I had gravely too little ram to run Sims 2 well. I only had 128M of ram on my old pc, which is barely enough to even function. It was sad. But the game still played! It was just really choppy and slow on even the lowest settings. How much do you have currently? (And what operating system are you on? Makes a bit of difference too.)

No, no you missunderstood what I said. I read on that site that 'after' you download the neighborhood Riverview that you can 'then' play offline..so what there basically trying to say is if you do not download Riverview then you will need to be online to play the game? maybe someone can clarify that for me because I know what I read in that letter to the community by RH

Ooh ... I hope that's not what they mean. Perhaps they just meant to refer to the neighborhood? After you download it, then you can play it offline? I don't know. I hope that's what it is!  huh

^ And because he saved this site, so imho he can do/say whatever he wants!  Thumbs Up
28  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: New pics/Sims 3 gold on: May 15, 2009, 02:02:39 pm
True they do look cartoony--ten steps backwards at least.  I love the idea of roaming with the family to the park or walking throught the neighborhood (or driving).  That's the only thing that makes it interesting.  I'm still planning on waiting until after it allows CC and no online logins necessary to play.

I may be wrong, but I don't believe that you will have to register it online to play it, just to download things. I think. That's what it seemed like at least from what I've heard.
29  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Help / Re: Test Your PC if its compatible with Sims 3 on: May 12, 2009, 09:05:27 am
^ If it doesn't work and you can't get a refund, you could always sell it on ebay!  Grin I'm sure someone there would buy it!

I would be really surprised if there were breast and hips sliders.

Yeah, I would be really surprised too. I'm may be in the minority, but I'm kind of ok with not having sliders for those. I am a little bummed that CC may be difficult, but I'm going to to just try and revamp how I play, focus more on the stories than having the most gorgeous sims ever. I'll just make the best of what they give us, I suppose. I'm ready for a change.

I think they should include a teen role model in the game (nah I'm not serious, just feeling playful) Britney Spears perhaps, and include a story line, How to ruin your career in three easy moves.
1 Wait till you're at the peak of your career and them marry a total looser
2 Have a couple of kids with him and then hit the bottle and get a divorce.
3 Forget to wear underwear with your micro mini.
Then they could call it a teen game.
This will probably end up in the rubbish where it belongs, but heck, I needed a laugh today.

Lol. Oh, Britney. She started out well but then things just went so terribly wrong ...  rolleyes
