Simmers' Paradise / Apartment Life Help / Is this right?
|
on: September 27, 2008, 11:08:05 am

Correct. Best method is to back up the empty apartment building, then "changelotzoning residential", save and exit, re enter to build, and stick to the rules for apartment building. "changelotzoning apartmentbase" when done. If built right, it should throw no errors.

Simmers' Paradise / Sims 2 Apartment Life Chat / Butler burns food

Have the Sims2 Employment agency screen them and disallow sloppy Sims, mean sims, and only accept butlers and nannys, with High cleaning and cookong skills.
Mod them.
Service Sims have been borked skill and personality wise since the game came out. I've even seen NPC Chefs in restaurants with no cooking skill, when I have used "make selectable" on them.

An alternate or addon would be nice. I had been waiting for SimPE to come out to go hunting up the bhav, rather than uninstalling AL just to hunt it up and go poking about in it.
Once agan, kudos on a job well done.

Simmers' Paradise / Apartment Life Help / Apartment help...

try "changelotzoning residential" and hope it works. Do this from the apartment base, meaning move any sims living there out of the building, before trrying this.
It is recommended saving the base into the bin or exporting it to a file before converting to apartments.Saving to a file keeps you a copy you can restore from outside the game.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Is anyone else having weird issues with Clean Installer?
|
on: September 23, 2008, 09:10:43 am

I've been placing CC into subfolders which are named to identify what the content is for. It makes finding problem files a bit easier, and removal of unneeded material a snap.
I only allow the house materials to go one folder deep for each house. I remember probs with it not showing for those when I tried a deeper heirarchy.
I hated slogging through all the greeked names in past trying to find something.
Never had problems with Clean Installer itself. (Crosses fingers for good luck) Good luck to you.

Simmers' Paradise / Apartment Life Help / Mailbox doesn't change when re-zoned to apartment

An option one can consider is a tool to go through CC to look for mailboxes. A bit of slogging about there, but it can preserve lots and such. Alternative is to "repackage" those lots and glean them up by removing any mail boxes from the listing and saving it clean.
I refer to the Clean Installer here.

Simmers' Paradise / Apartment Life Help / What am I doing wrong ?

I recommend hitting the delete button on such an error. I have seen them before, and in other EPs prior to this one.
Usually it would show for me when loading the lot though, after an EP installation.

Simmers' Paradise / Sims 2 Apartment Life Chat / Few things bugging me about AL

TO fix BookhandBoy, run "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true", shift click the kid, force an error, click delete. Save and exit the lot. He should appear by the mailbox without the books in hand.
I've had this happen with the "spray paint" for the car before this EP came out, and with the wand in this EP.
This fixed my sims.
