17  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Question About Mac's on: September 06, 2008, 04:10:14 pm
Home ->Documents -> EA Games-> The Sims 2 -> Downloads

If the Downloads-folder doesnt exist, then you make it. It MUST have a capital D and be spelled JUST like this: Downloads

If the file have a .rar or .zip ending, then you must open the compressed files. Zip-files can be opened with a program that comes with the Mac, for Rar files you must download a program. UnrarX is a very good one that I use.

If you don't have the Nightlife EP, then you cannot have subfolders in your Downloads folder. If you have Nightlife or later then you can have it.

BeeTaishoo how many downloads do you have?

Check your savedsims-folder as well, since that is where CC that comes with installed sims go. It can get very full very fast if you download loads of sims.

23  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Unable to export or name projects in BS on: August 06, 2008, 11:58:04 am
Then try reinstalling your game (remember to back up files and move your downloads-folder somewhere else before doing this) and see if you still have the problem. As far as I remember, the sims 2 should be installed in a different directory in Leopard. Check the forum for more info.

26  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / What is Securom, and are Mac users cursed with it? on: August 03, 2008, 09:51:57 am
Damsel13 I don't know how the windows-users find securom on their computers, but when I search my Mac for "securom" it comes up with nada. Proof enough for you? I have not heard a single mac-user complain about any of the problems windows-users have experienced after BV.
27  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / What is Securom, and are Mac users cursed with it? on: August 01, 2008, 04:55:23 pm
MaryH a program like that is no use on a Mac, since the gaming community on Macs is such a low, low percentage of the total gamers. I think on the official EA poll under 10% answered they were on a mac. But imagine how many that play the sims that never are on the official site. Most of those are pc-users.

And as I have stated earlier, Aspyr wouldn't be bothered to convert it on their own.
28  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / What is Securom, and are Mac users cursed with it? on: July 31, 2008, 05:25:36 am
Neh, not on macs, but the same question is posted just a couple of threads under this Wink it's a lousy program that messes up computers, thats all I know.

30  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Securom on Mac version of BV? on: July 21, 2008, 05:00:46 am
Nope, not as far as I know. I doubt Aspyr bothered to convert that program.
