1  The Sims 3 / Pudding Improvements / Pet Relationship Icon Replacements on: November 13, 2011, 04:40:33 pm
This file will replace the overly cartoony relationship headline icons for pets with ones more inkeeping with the existing Sim relationship headline icons.
The new icons are based on the old icons from The Sims 2 with an updated colour scheme to match that of The Sims 3.

The files that I have edited are;
headline_Social_Pet (Instance 0x9dc0eccdeea5f0af)
headline_Social_Sim (Instance 0x2a5cff1367ae13d9)
Both are _IMG files from within DeltaBuild2.package so unless you have any other mod that alters these then there is nothing for them to conflict with.
2  The Sims 3 / Pudding Flavours / PLAIN 'Cortinas Festivas!' and 'Traditional Curtains' blinds on: April 12, 2010, 01:06:14 pm
I was asked if I would be able to make a plain version of the base game blinds. I decided to have a go as I thought it would be something I would also like to see in my own game.

As a result I have now created plain versions of the Cortinas Festivas! blind and the Traditional Curtains blind.

They can be found in the decor section of the catalogue just in front of the originals as these cost slightly less, as seen in the screenshots. I figured they should be cheaper as there is no stenciled design.

They come in the four original designs, minus the stencil. I also modified the mesh slightly so that they will fit a greater range of windows without bleeding through the frames.

Please don't redistribute but feel free to link back to this thread.

It has the same number of polygons as the EA originals.

Thanks to;
TSR Workshop,
Milkshape,
Wes H for the plugins,
cmomoney at MTS for help with deleting the stencils.
3  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Women / Casual Suit on: January 26, 2009, 07:51:28 am
Here is a MESH that I made 2 years ago which has since been revised and had it's texture updated three times.

I admit that the texture is not great but felt that it may still be worth uploading for the sake of the mesh.
If anybody would like to recolour it then please feel free. Just don't upload this mesh with your creations.

Special thanks to CatOfEvilGenius from MTS for her Milkshape Normals Smoother plugin.
4  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Misc. Mods and Careers / Lunatech 'Lighten Up' Ceiling Light Fix on: January 21, 2009, 01:16:18 pm
This file alters the light GMDC so that it now sits correctly in the Apartment Life ceilings. AL is NOT required though.
Many thanks to Havelock over at MATY for originally making a CRES version of this which brought my attention to the problem and inspired me to make this version.

The differences between the two are that with Havelock's version the file size is smaller but you will have to replace all existing Lunatech lights manually.
With my version all lights are altered automatically but the file size is larger.

5  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Custom Objects & Recolors / 4 Maxis-match HEMNES dresser recolours on: October 09, 2008, 01:16:49 pm
Here I have recoloured both the HEMNES dressers that came with Ikea home stuff pack so that all the colours are now available on both.

Now you can have furniture that actually matches.

Please don't upload elsewhere unless it is as part of a lot upload to a FREE site. Then all I ask is that you link back here please.
6  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Custom Objects & Recolors / 3 Maxis-match EKTORP seating recolours on: October 09, 2008, 01:07:14 pm
Hello!
I was miffed that EA/Maxis decided not to make all of the EKTORP seating in the same colours so I recoloured the EKTORP armchair and loveseat in the sofa colours that were missing.
The colours I've done are white, beige and striped.

Now you can have fully matching livingrooms that are properly co-ordinated.

Known Issue: If you don't or can't play your game with maximum texture detail then the striped recolour may look blocky and blurry. I've tried my best to eliminate the problem but SimPE seems to compress the image just a bit too much on reimport even when using the 'Build DXT' option. This doesn't effect the plain recolours though.

I hope you enjoy them in game. IKEA stuff is required for these to show.

Please don't upload elsewhere unless you include them with an uploaded lot to a FREE site. Then just link back here please.
7  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Misc. Mods and Careers / University Espresso Machine Texture Fix on: September 27, 2008, 04:34:45 pm
Pointless if you use CEP as this is fixed in the latest version

I recently discovered that the textures on the university espresso machine do not change as they should when compared to the matching counter island.

As with the matching counters, and indeed all counters, the front of the countertop edge should change texture when you pick a countertop texture. Instead, on the espresso machine this changes when a base texture is chosen. This happened because it was meshed wrong.

Basically speaking you are very limited with which countertops and bottoms match successfully.

With this fix the mapping works as it should.

See pictures below for before and after.

8  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Misc. Mods and Careers / Corrected Education Chance Cards on: September 27, 2008, 04:05:51 pm
I noticed a few days ago that there was a gender typo in one of the Education career chance cards from Seasons.
When I went to fix it I found there were quite a few within the Education chance cards and so I fixed them all.

As the nature of chance cards is random I have not been able to take any screenshots of the changes but they should work.

9  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Custom Objects & Recolors / [AL] Centrifun Roundabout in Wood on: September 27, 2008, 04:00:17 pm
Here's a recolour of the Centrifun Roundabout from Apartment Life that I made to fit in with a park I have built in my game. I used the climbing tower wood texture as a base so it shouldn't look out of place if you use them together.

10  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Walls, Floors & Murals / Maxis-match Regal Arch Wall Décor on: September 25, 2008, 10:31:06 am
I have created these walls to fill a gap left by MAXIS/EA in the Celebration Stuff pack although Celebration isn't required to use them.

If you read catalogue descriptions then you may be aware that the existing 'The Regal Column Wall Décor' makes reference to the 'Regal Arch Wall Décor' that doesn't seem to exist in the game.

Thats where this download comes in. I have taken the existing Column Décor and used it as a base to create versions which include an arch in the design.

Below you can see them stood against their column counterparts to demonstrate how they match up;

The other links are individual pictures.

They cost 2 simoleons each which is 1 simoleon more than the plain column version and have their own description (even if its very similar to that of the column version).

I hope you find them useful in your game and that your Sims enjoy them.

Please don't upload them elsewhere.
11  Resident Creators / Mod Requests / Community massage table and makeover station use? on: September 22, 2008, 12:58:13 pm
Hello Squinge! Great to have you back.
Would it be at all possible to make it so that non playable Sims can use the BV massage table and OfB makeover station (withouth actually changing appearance) on regular non-owned community lots?

I have a barbers set up with massage tables in the back. They all get NPC sims to man them but no visiting Sims ever use them. They arrive on the lot, attempt to show interest in the makeover stations but give up after having a buy bar appear over their heads and then disappear and just spend the rest of the time chatting. They never pay any attention to the massage tables at all.

It would be great for the lot to be functional without having to have a Sim own it.
12  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Walls, Floors & Murals / Maxis-match Gardentime Flooring on: September 21, 2008, 05:34:56 am

Ever notice that the Gardentime flooring that came with Seasons was a bit limited in its use?
It was fine if you wanted to make a soil covered garden edged with grass but what about a grass covered garden edged with soil?
Well with these tiles I've made you can now combine both!

Below in the attachments is an example of what you can do now providing you have Seasons installed. Seasons isn't required to use these floor coverings although they probably wont be much use without it.

The files are in .package format so you just need to drop them into your Downloads folder as with other downloads.
I hope you find these tiles useful in your game. They can be found under the miscellaneous sort along with the Maxis originals at a cost of $6 like the originals.

13  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Misc. Mods and Careers / General Practioner? Job Title Fix on: September 19, 2008, 09:48:41 am
How many General Practioners do you know? I certainly don't know any seeing as the correct title should be 'General Practitioner'.
I only noticed this in my game the other day when I got my first Sims roommate and was checking what job he had.

With this package installed the job will now correctly show as 'General Practitioner' and no longer relate to a fictitious word.

14  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Misc. Mods and Careers / Thackeray Chair Name Correction on: September 19, 2008, 09:13:24 am
I made this package so that the naming of the Thackeray chair from Apartment Life is consistent throughout the catalogue entry.
Without this file 'Thackeray' is spelt one way for the object name and differently in it's description.

For a change this error wasn't just in the English text but in quite a few other languages as well. This should fix the error no matter what language you play in.

(Note that in some languages the chair name is spelt Tackeray and in others it is Thackaray.)
15  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Misc. Mods and Careers / 'Reagents Complete' Text Replacement on: September 19, 2008, 09:05:26 am
I was annoyed to see EAxis' choice of text for notifying the player that a Sim has completed the first reagent each time they are told to make some.

Why use 'a' when most of the items they create have plural names or start with vowels? Such as 'Crystalised Moonbeams' or 'Essence of Light'?
I've altered the text with this package so that 'a' has been replaced with 'creating'.

This text is used for anything that a Sim can create from the cauldron including the objects. It may not read perfectly with all object names but I thinks its a great improvement.
