1  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Resolution on: March 03, 2016, 06:24:36 am
The Graphics Rules.sgr in T&A is not the same as M&G so changes that are intended for M&G may not be applicable to T&A. Clearly you have not diminished T&A's Graphics Rules.sgr or you would not be able to use 1680 x 1050.
The place the resolution is stored for the next time the game runs is in your userProps.xml (Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Config\), find the line that begins with '  <AnyString key="activeDeviceDisplayMode" type="0x0b8bea18">'

Note: In T&A the userProps.xml also differs from M&G as it has force12HrTime and carsOnRight as options
2  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: kids and teens coming home with adults after work on: May 26, 2013, 12:39:48 am
This thread reminded me that I have a sim that always brings the same sim home from work so I took a good look to see what's going on. I have good news and bad news, the good news is there is nothing wrong with your game, it is not caused by cc (which of coarse you already know), the offending sim is a hobby friend and is supposed to come home with your sim every night. The bad news is that you will not be able to stop/fix it without cc.
The hobby friend's Nid is held by your sim in semi-attribute 0x0023 (35) which is never cleared. When your sim returns from work if she/he has a hobby friend assigned then that sim is used. The job globals never check that the sim is still valid, they just blindly use it.
To fix it you simply need to clear your sim's semi-attribute 0x0023, to do that you will need to download, install and use an item. I have placed an item on box.net for you, it is not zipped or rared so you can simply download and use it as is. It's a clone of the napkin holder from nightlife and found in the same place in the catalog (Decorative / Sculptures). It will just one option, "Remove My Annoying Friend" and that is only available to a sim that has a hobby friend assigned, once used there should be no options available which comfirms it worked. The item (CJH-FixHobbyFriend.package) contains no game overrides at all and is perfectly safe to use.

If you have no cc then it is most likely you don't have a Downloads folder so you will need to create one to put the file into and enable custom content in your game before you can use it. Once you have used it you can delete it from the lot, save and exit your game and remove it from your downloads folder if you like. Perhaps keep it somewhere safe for when it happens again.

So if I want to use another girl outfit, then it's posible to use this file to fix it (change GMDC and texture files)? Just curious (since I get a lot of requests).

If that works (and I suppose it does), then this is pure genious Cheesy
From now all my girl outfits will be girl only  Grin

Praise

Yes that'll work just fine, provided they retain the same resource values

This will apply BlooM's Infant default replacement *Request Pink dress* to baby girls only leaving baby boys with Maxis default or whatever default replacement you prefer.

Note: BlooM's Infant default replacement *Request Pink dress* mesh and texture is included with altered resources to allow it to apply only to girls so you shouldn't have that one installed or it will also be applied to boys.

Thanks tigeresskitten6, I was really curious as to how you'd handle such a big request and although I don't have it game yet from the look of your pics you've done remarkably well.

9  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Before you install Pets on: June 30, 2008, 08:32:06 am
Hi Kathy, I wish I'd noticed this thread before. I installed Pets yesterday and fortunatly have had no problems. I can now confirm all of my mods, available at insimadult are working fine. No need to update any of them.
