48  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Can't see downloaded wall hanging recolors on: June 17, 2007, 11:28:07 pm
Hi - I recently had EXACTLY this problem. Be sure to download the latest CEP and reinstall. It should then work fine. - well it did for me. I didnt realise that my CEP was out of date.

(sometimes, even if it isnt, it still works when you reinstall it)

On a side note: My pnormal game was working absolutely fine. It was the new neighbourhood I started on a different profile that didnt. I dont know why this is, but installing the CEP again totally fixed the problem Smiley
49  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / This isn't a WCIF question. on: June 14, 2007, 08:32:54 pm
How many households does this happen with?
If it is just one, try moving them out of their lot from neighbourhood screen, and into the sim bin. Then move them back in.
If it is happening with others, then I am at a loss Im sorry.
50  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Sims 2 Seasons - Patch #2 Released 6.11.07 on: June 14, 2007, 07:28:20 pm
Maxis have themselves labelled the patch as having bugs - not just missing things - however, a new patch will be posted in its place next week. From what I see, it mainly affects babies. Depending on how you play, the game will still be workable, and nothing should explode. And for the most part, take a few days off playing and add to your downloads instead, and build stuff. A week flies by pretty fast.

I installed it. I'd LIKE to say my game is running smoothly, but this is the sims folks... does it EVER?
suffice to say however that it is playable. And I am looking forward to some more fixes Smiley
51  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Expansion on: June 14, 2007, 07:22:06 pm
I had this problem when trying to install a lot last night (I have every EP, patch, and stuff pack)

on the package file, I right clicked and selected install with... it asked me to choose from "sims2pack clean installer" or "sims2 bodyshop installer" (the official programme) I chose the bodyshop installer (long story about a problem I was having with the clean installer) anyway - I had 2 versions of the bodyshop installer in the list of options for some reason. check to see if this applies to you, and try both. Chances are, one will work.
52  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Sims freezing to death in CAS on: June 11, 2007, 11:42:36 pm
Quote from: beosboxboy;623868
If anyone else has experienced this please post it in this thread so we can see if a pattern evoloves.

I have a custom CAS, but have only experienced the sim freezing in a CAS that I edited with seasons. In all my other CAS, whether custom or not, this does not happen - they were made prior to the seasons EP - I hope it can be fixed, because I am ready for a change Sad

NB: My sim freezing entails: turning blue, falling over. gets up - face stuck blue. Repeat.

Edit: Note folks, this is NOT a general CAS help thread. It is specifically to record instances, or find solutions for the sims freezing problem in CAS post-seasons EP. It's important that bugs and help threads remain very much ON-TOPIC and related to specific problems (namely those outlined in the first post), or they become jumbled, and therefore, harder to address. I don't mind if you elaborate on other weirdness you've noticed also, but I do see some horrible bugs in this thread as well as other glitches that were addressed long before this thread was posted, so I think some of these problems certainly warrant (or may already have) more suitable threads of their own.
Thanks
53  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Sims 2 Seasons - Patch #2 Released 6.11.07 on: June 11, 2007, 09:35:27 pm
I wonder if any of these changes will address the problem of sims freezing on custom CAS lots made with seasons. I will test it out, because I miss customising my CAS. Naturally they wont promote it even if it does, because they dont encourage people to customise to that extent (or it would be easier)
54  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Sims only shows up in Body Shop not the game!! on: June 04, 2007, 11:26:40 pm
Gilysse - I know you must be frustrated - please be patient with us and give us more information so that we can be more helpful to you.

What are the ages and genders of the sims? What expansions do you have installed? Do the sims use any custom meshes or skintones? Are you installing them with the bodyshop installer, or the clean-installer?

This isn't an uncommon problem - it happens frequently with houses also. Perhaps we can narrow it down for you, and hopefully fix it.

Oh... and yes - this has happened to me as well. 2 of the missing sims had been filed at the very back of my sim bin (so scroll all the way through - it is annoying when the game does this) and the other missing sims were simply, missing, and I was never able to find them. I know that doesnt help, but maybe someone else will have a better answer.
55  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / An Odd Questions-Preview Video on Maxis Hoods on: June 04, 2007, 06:11:25 pm
the above tutorial Auronette linked to is an excellent one which shows you how to set your own pic in the neighbourhood menu.

However, it is not possible to customise the menu to show a vid (like in the pre-loaded Maxis hoods) at this time Sad

57  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / HELP!!!!! now please :( on: May 25, 2007, 03:08:15 am
I think you will need to quit out of the lot and enter it again. Alternatively, if you save the lot, you can move the family out, and then back in again. You wont need to restart the family - but you will need to refurnish the house.
