I'm sooooo happy this weekend started early, so I can finish up a few sim projects I've had in the back of my mind for a while. Grin
Needing more hospital clutter, I thought I'd free some of my own accessory meshes, and turn those into clutter too. Also made a couple of new meshes. Had some fun with a few other meshes too, and fixed a few others - but those are still not quite finished. Thought I'd also make a snow castle tomorrow. A sims version, that is Wink. It's been ages since I played with snow ingame, so maybe there'll be a picture update soon, too... Grin

Defibrillation pad
(There's a picture of the accessory version in ch.30 of LFB. I also added the accessory test version in the discussion forum at my site, right after the pictures of the new accessories).

Throwing in an update, from "behind the scenes" at the Brooks lot  Grin

Snow ball fights

That penguin is annoying like @&¤#"#%&@ since he comes running through the house at all times, plus has non-spesific talks with all the umpteen snowmen on the lot (I really think he needs a psychiatrist) - but he is kinda cute, too.

As long as it doesn't go purple, that is.

As a matter of fact, most of the lot started flashing purple.

Now, that's annoying...

And finally Aidan, who is just as cute as ever.

More pics coming after I've posted the newest chapter.

Oh, and a contest entry at Simoasis:

(it is in fact a toddler version of Erica, incase anyone wonders...)

Thanks Smiley

The problems has to do with the weather, I think. More spesifically, the snow. I usually keep the season at springtime/summer, leaving weather off (clear sky) until I need weather in a picture. The purple-flashing problem started when I used weather again. Works fine for a while, until the computer runs out of memory. Everything covered in snow, plus sometimes sims and animals, starts flashing purple. Right now only thing that works is to go out of the game, and back in.  Undecided

May have to turn off some of the graphics (like reflections).  I know my laptop always slowed down significally when I put that on. Possible also turn off the neighbor view when not taking pics outside (which I usually leave off, in any case).

Maybe I should consider getting another memory card. Not sure if it will help, but could be worth a try. If I put the game down while playing, it is often already at 3GB memory use, most likely much more when actually playing.

That sure sounds like a problem... hmm... maybe another memory card might work?

My computer is quite new, graphics card one of the best inside what I could afford. Most likely it's just a combination of Vista problems, too many downloads, and me putting all settings on high, thinking the memory card(s) can deal with it...  Undecided

I think that'd be a bit on the expensive side. If I were you, I'd upgrade to Windows 7, preferably a 64-bit version. Memory's pretty cheap in the computer world, but 8-GB wouldn't help if you OS is horrible at handling the available memory. An upgrade from Vista would cost around $120. Not to bad of an investment, I thought at first. (At least, Here in the US)

I originally planned on upgrading BECAUSE of memory. Sometimes, I could have enough memory to save screenshots and they just end up blank. (ESP. on memory munching games like the sims.) But as soon as I upgraded, Windows 7 handled the 3GB of memory on my system SO well. That instead of having to close everything except the sims and Infranview, I could now run Firefox, Sims 2, Infranview, GIMP, MSN, and tons of documents windows at the same time. I even ADDED a second monitor without problems.

That sounds like it'd help you a lot too huh?

Basic Comp Stuffz:

Basic AMD dual-core processor,
3GB of memory,
9800 GT N-Vidia Ge-Force
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit <---  Grin

Another "behind the scenes" update. And I can tell you, a lot of weird things happens...

First of all, version ten or something of Penguin. He keeps going green and smoky all the time, or he decides he has not eaten anything for days, so the eating animation starts looping endlessly...
He's quite proud of his feathers, anyway.

Oh, and Penguin's name brother... The real penguin.

"Soup?"

"Stop skiing on my head!!!"

Goofy smile

Flirty (or trying to be flirty, anyway... I think he's hitting on that snowman)

"SURPRISE!"
*flash*

And the Brooks' newspaper seems to be quite popular. I think they've got a newspaper subscription nobody else has...
I think her name is Maggie or something. Can't quite remember. She was a part of some storytelling contest over at SimOasis

And all of a sudden I saw this weird old lady outside the house.

At first I was almost worried she would steal the garage or something...

But she left Aladdin's lamp, and tiptoed out of there.

Freaky...

Notice her path in the snow... She doesn't seem to have a sense of directions at all...

And then we've got Jenna, who is just goofing around in the bathroom

Love this expression...

No sense of directions here, either...

Goofy once more...

Drowning... in the bathtub...

And finally...

Yeah, that's tony in the speech bubble  Blink

That same creepy old lady comes to my sims' houses also... hmm we must keep an eye out on this so called creepy genie grandmoms?

Penguin's name brother might just be a bit psychotic? I mean.. flirting with a snowman? Even I don't do that.. and that says something..

Um in love with your son? Not weird at all. Grin
