Extractable objects?

Is it possible to extract only the buy/build mode objects and new bodyshop items from a new EP? Im just wondering...
Say for instance University... you'd want the objects that came with it... but dont care to actually ever send your sims away to "college"? and not particularly fond of the socials either.. would I be able to extract only what I want from any given EP?
