Hi there everyone!,

This is my first post here, so I wasn't quite sure where to post this. If it doesn't fit in this forum, I am extremely sorry and feel free to move it to the appropriate forum!

I was wondering if it's possible to use Body Shop on a computer without The Sims installed? I have a laptop that doesn't really have the space for Sims 2, or the specs for it, but I'd like to be able to work on Body Shop on my laptop, too if it's at all possible...
I'm just kind of clueless, so any help would be appreciated :happy8:

Edit: You know what, just thinking of it I am about 98% sure that it wouldn't work for (now to me) obvious reasons. If I could delete the post I would, woops! Still, if I'm wrong, let me know. haha.

Of course it is. Bodyshop was created and available for download before the Sims 2 was even released.

That version is still borked though.  It has a custom skin issue where babies are born with the "body" texture on their faces instead of the "face" texture they were supposed to have.  So I wouldn't recommend it.  Wink

Tenshii is right - the pre-release version of bodyshop creates all files in a very strange way using a format that has never been supported by the actual game - these files worked sort of ok in just the base game before any patches or expansion packs, but after the first patch and the addition of any expansion pack these files don't work even remotely right.  I would avoid the download-able Body Shop at all costs.

The Body SHop that comes with the game is the only one that creates files in a manner that works with all versions of the game -- and it requires that the game be installed since it uses the installation files for all it does.
