Downtown lots

Ok so I download a few lots for my downtown area and I need to know how do I get my simpeople to go to work there.. I mean how can I make it like people work there and customers come..

If you visit the community lot, NPCs should appear at any cash registers, juice bars, expresso bars, and DJ booths.  Restaraunts set up properly will have a full staff.

If you just want your sims to work on those lots, though, you need the Open for Business EP.  Then you can choose a sim that you want to own the lot, have them go to a phone/computer and purchase a community lot (if they have the funds), and then they can travel there and hire employees, assign them tasks, etc.  

(I'm a little rusty on that EP, seeing as I haven't had a sim run a business in over a year... but that's just the basic way of doing it if you just want the sims you made to work on the community lots of your choice.  :lol:)

thanks for answering .. I was wonderign actually both responses.. so as seeing I have to put a cash register on the lot then .. NPC will come and operate the micky d's I put in my community.
