I really feel hopeless in this situation, and I've done lots of thinking, testing, removing files, seperating, scanning, re-installing and I can't believe it has come to this. I now declare the jump bug. My brain is fried by now between real life and the sims, and losing a whole community of sims about 3 monthes ago I'll never get back. I GIVE UP. Can someone with modding experience PLEASEE PLEASEE PLEASEE translate this error message for me? It will really help greatly. It doesn't matter how long of a wait I'll have I just need help. Take your time. And maybe others like me who have used the "boolprop testingCheatsEnabled true" cheat will learn DONT USE IT, NOOOOOOOO, it will come back to haunt you. My game now cannot work untill after I use delete in this message. I'm so sorry. I am not in my right mind right now.

You have a borked custom career installed in your game.  Remove it.  For future reference, custom careers are evil and should be shunned like the plague.

Ok I removed all custom careers, foods, and hacks and still I get the same message with this sim and I tried loading other sims and it's not working. Should I delete the nieghborhood?

the down side to custom careers, custom college majors, and custom foods is that they can corrupt an individual Sim, a single lot, a sub-division in a neighbourhood, or a whole neighbourhood and all its sub-divisions

Jase is right to characterise them as evil incarnate.  And they should be avoided like the plague.

You might be able to salvage the neighbourhood, but it is better and wiser to delete that neighbourhood and start over.

Ok, so I deleted the nieghborhood "kashmir" and kept all the other maxis 'hoods untouched, it still did not work for my new nieghborhood and sims, and according to Delphy's download organiser I have absoulutely no global mods. I deleted the careers ands hacks and put all the foods on my desktop. I'm still getting this:

And when I delete the error everything runs smoothly.  After I open a new lot, new sim, it all starts over again.

you will need to delete groups.cache from

PCs
~\My  Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\

Macs
~/Home/EA Games/The Sims 2/

and run Paladin's Hack Conflict Detection Utility - get it here: http://www.simwardrobe.com/

when you have ran the Hack Conflict Detection Utility - post the report file and I will look through it to see what might be hidden in your downloads

Are you sure you don't have any more mods/hacks inside of your Downloads folder?  From what I know, they don't have to be global mods in order to cause those types of errors.

And, if it's not too much of an inconvenience to you, can you tell us which mods you might have downloaded?  I've had this happen a few times myself when I was playing Sims 2 on my old PC, and found the problem to be a mod that keeps elders asleep through the night.  Not sure if it's the case here, but it'd be helpful to know some of them.

I had that pose hack in my game and it cause object conflict to some of my favorite objects like tha pizza maker for my sims, I loss that once in my game, lucky I copyed my download folder before that happen.
I'll never put that mod in my game Never. my advice to u, don't use career hacks in your game, those are evil hack and threat to your sims.
I play mine safe now.
I had errors like that in my game also, there was something in my download I had back in 2006.
I didn't have the right sim tools at that time, some hack called, Phoneline, cause my sim to disappear  while she was eating her food. I had downloaded someone's made lot, that very much curupted my game. My other advice to u, be careful downloading someone's lots , cuz their lots have hacks that can conflict your game and kill off your sims.

oh god - the phoneline thing is Satan's own hand.  I was ready to kill some people over that damned thing; I think 2/3 of the lots I downloaded in the past 3 years had that creeping doom hidden in them, that and 200 mailbox recolours.  I have seen some versions of the phoneline that don't take the red highlight in Sims2Pack Clean Installer and you can only identify it by the name.

extravagantxx -- have the sim quit his/her job -- if that doesn't solve it, then it looks like you have no choice but to remove the Downloads folder then do the process of elimination by adding back a handful of custom content at a time, testing the game after each addition.

move the SavedSims and Downloads folder to a secure location and run the game without them.  If there is no bug, then the problem is in one of those folders; if the bug continues to occur, then you have a corrupted game file like the OBJECTS.PACKAGE.

You can extract a copy of the OBJECTS.PACKAGE from the latest EP you have installed from the big COMPRESSED.ZIP file on the installation media.  See how here: http://www.insimenator.org/showpost.php?p=1004188&postcount=5

Was I supposed to run the hack detector while the game was running too?

Thanks you guys, k here's the info

I did have a phone hack that came with a lot and I tried so hard to delete it a long time ago I was sucessful, it hasn't been in my folder not that I know of.  Before I removed the mods from my downloads folder, I had a couple of pizza, cakes, russian meals and pasteries (I was big on bussinesses), in Delphy's download organiser it says that they are foods, in the clean installer careers; so to be safe they are gone from the folder now. From since I can remember my refrigerators that were custom did not work with a custom stove, it needed to be a maxis stove and vise-versa. The hacks I had in the folder were CBOY_nocensor.package, WriteNovelsFaster.package, PregnancyWearAnyOutfitEP3.package, and jaxad0127_NoNudeReact.package.

Right now, in a scary way beosboxboy, I do not have any sims with any jobs and just recently I uninstalled all the games I have; Sims 2, University, OFB, Nightlife, Pets, Seasons, Holiday Pack Stuff, and H&M Stuff.

Everything that I am doing in the game is fresh and new, it was working untill I put the downloads folder in. Once I startup the game I can't even play really, all I can do is just watch the nieghborhood and select a sim family, type in the boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true delete the message then it'll work for the moment, and after that other households aren't even guarenteed to load at all, like none of them, it takes about 25 minutes on the first time. The last day I recall playing, with my 3 generation family was in a castle I downloaded, I heavily furnished it and it looked absoulutely stunning (I'm still emotionally recovering); I used the master cheat and spawned this box to make the sims act out what was commanded. That day I made a couple of changess on the lot, saved the game forgetting to remove the spawn and in the process of saving the game crashed and never worked properly again. There were a couple of times it crashed before that day. I didn't backup my lots or nieghborhoods, or sims, I uninstalled seasons first thinking that the files wouldn't be removed and lost everything. But I did save my downloads folder, and it still has all the same files, no new ones; I organized 15,798 and 98 folders (including subfolders) before I started to get back into the game.

Sorry this post is so long, before I run through my whole downloads folder I want to make sure that I could not be anything else. Could removing one file really fix your whole game?

yes often times one file can make or break the game.  I don't (and won't ever) have Pets EP installed, and any bed, couch, or counter I install that has Pets EP stuff connected to it crashes my game before it loads every time.  So most definitely one file can utterly bugger your game.

personally I would dump CBOY's no censor, it is definitely outdated and even crammyboy deleted the mod in favour of Quaxi's

The pregnancy wear anything mod too has been known to cause all manner of mischief, not everyone suffers from it, but enough that I won't use it.  And I have seen several no-react mods for nudity, but honestly I don't recall if any of them caused errors.

This is still a problem with custom careers.  You may have removed the custom careers you explicitly installed, but there's no helping the ones that piggy backed their way into your system on an infected lot you pulled off the Exchange or other site.  You probably wouldn't even recognize their names (abcd52142ff55ad0ee498b78821fa.package) if you saw them.

Unfortunately, if you downloaded an infected lot or if you ever had a rogue custom career amongst your Downloads folder, the affected lot(s) may not be salvageable.  The jump bug you're experiencing is originating from inside the job controller.  That is a hidden object that is created with the lot.  It must be destroyed and recreated.

Sanitize your downloads folder.

Bulldoze lot.

Do over.

Install only trusted content.  Don't just drop all 15 thousand files back in or you'll end up infecting more lots.  Custom careers are literally a virus - they infect whatever job controller they come in contact with.
