SIms 2 won't run

Okay well I click the icon and it won't run.

My computer is relatively new, I purchased it in July. So the video card's pretty good. Any one have any advice. It ran yesterday, but not today so I'm confused. I'm thinking as a last resort I might copy my "EA Games" folder to someplace else and then reinstall it. Though I have GBs of downloads so I'd prefer not to that so lol so any advice is truly appreciated.

Have you tried deleting the Groups.cache and Accessory.cache files in your Sims 2 folder?

No. what would that do?

Okay well I tried what Tenshii~Akari  said and still no lucj. Any other ideas?? If not I'm gonna uninstall in about 15 minutes.

Did you try to start your game from the Windows start menu?

It may have lost its .exe file, this happened with me when my hubby ran a virus scan and because bon voyage is using securon it thought it to be a virus and quarantined it.
Found this out after i installed it again, you dont need to uninstall first just install the exp pack over it.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I tried most of it but I did just end up uninstalling and reinstalling. Thankfully everything seems to working fine now, except for a few errors with graphics that have always been present(I've learned to disregard them and how to temporarily fix them). Thanks once again. I really appreciate it.
