Hello! I have a huge problem with my game .. Everytime my sim goes town and I select "Call Taxi" the game suddenly pauses and I can't do anything. A window with an error "Object Error_F001_t6691.txt" appears. I always press reset but when i do this on a community lot I can't take my sim back home or do anything besides returning to the neighbourhood. Should i delete the text folder from My Documents? :smt120 Thank you! Hope I was specific Smiley

If you have any outdated hacks, you need to remove them.  I'm pretty sure you might have some hack that's phone related causing that problem.

The only hack i've been using is "move objects on" and "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" but i'm quite sure you are right cuz i'm quite certain that this error appeared after i typed move objects on:)

You're welcome.  Wink

Well, those are technically "cheats", so they're harmless.  :smile bi:  But if you're one that downloads any sort of lots from the exchange, you may have a few hacks and not even know it, because once they've been packed into a lot, a good majority of them have their names changed into strange (and long) names with a bunch of numbers and letters.  It happens a lot, so the best way to find them is if you use these tools:

Sims2Pack Clean Installer (so you can actually SEE what you're downloading, and if it's a hack, which is usually highlighted in red, or not. If it's highlighted in pink, it's a duplicate file)

Sims 2 Hack Conflict Detection Utility (scans for any hack conflicts that may occur in your game... can be found under Sims 2 => Programs)

Delphy's Download Organizer (basically shows the same details as Sims2Pack Clean Installer, only with more info and shows category placements, folders and subfolders custom content is located in, etc.  Also highlights hacks in red)

Do not use the organizer!, she's a buggie mess, and will delete beloved downloads without permission...

I do also recommend the clean-pack though...

Nequam:  Well, admittedly, it hasn't been updated since BV I believe (maybe even before then) but I still haven't run into any instances where the DDO would delete random things without notice.    Definitely not ruling out the possibility, but just saying I haven't run across that bug.

Alisa-Dahlia:  You're perfectly welcome to delete those if you'd like.  (especially the pink ones.  Like mentioned before, those are duplicate files, so there's no need for more than one of the same file in your game.  Wink) Just take note of some of the files you're deleting, though, if you have any hacks that you did happen to download by choice and want to keep them.  Otherwise, you're free to let them go into the great digital beyond.

Anyways, hope that's working out for you in getting rid of a few unwanted hacks.

Hmmm? Well it would be odd of me to post for no reason other than to post malicious lies, so I'll say use at your own peril.

The 'orphan' hunting is what I was referring to, though if you have been spared from any ills I commend you on your good fortune, I myself have not been...
