hello everyone : )

i too, have trouble with photoshop, and things like that..

J00wish- i read and seem to think that your first method..seems to be the easiest..and i was able to do it all and it worked for me..but my only problem is..now how do i add a backround to it again. like instead of a solid color.

say i have like a defualt pic on my computer..like a backround for my moniter..how do i add it so its behind my sims?

sorry if im adding something to the post instead of making a new one..

thanks : )

Trepie22:
jackie202 you should be able to make the part of the picture you just got into a new layer [if it's called background you will have to select something like 'layer from background']
Then you open another picture file and copy it into your already open photoshop project. It should go on top of the layer you already have. Then you change the order of the layers. Layers at the top of the list will be on the top of the pile, so moving the layer you want as the background to underneath your original layer should put your original layer in the foreground.^^
Sorry if that's unclear, I'll upload some pics if you're still unsure.

Edit:
Decided to upload some pics anyway..^^;

Step 1:
Open picture with background erased:

Here I've got Clover with some binoculars!

Step 2:
Add a new layer, either by doing this:

Or by copying a pic from another file like this:

and pasting it [on my program it automatically pastes onto a new layer, I don't know what you're using but mine's Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0]
Here I've chosen the most background like image I could find on my computer, Valkurm Dunes from FFXI.. I'm not sure why Clover would be standing there, but hey, it's a tutorial, it doesn't need to make sense.. oh wait.. 8D

Step 3:

Your picture should look like this, with the layers in the wrong order for what you want to do.
Simply click the layer you want as the background and drag it so that it is underneath the foreground layer in the layers box [bottom right of screen].

It should then look like that, with your sim on a background of your choice.^^

To save the file as a jpeg, bmp or png you will need to right click the top layer in the layers box and choose 'flatten image', 'merge down' or some option similar to that.

Your finished product will look something like this:

Hope this helps.
