Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Building Question
on: July 09, 2008, 02:27:21 am
The entire two years I have been playing I can't figure this out. When I build a foundation then try to build walls on top of the foundation, the walls get built starting at the bottom of the foundation. So the height of the walls is shortened then without the foundation. Does anyone know what I mean?
Thanks all

Simmers' Paradise / Anecdote Assistance / Pagan Simmers Help
on: August 28, 2007, 10:00:43 pm
I have this idea that I would like any pagan simmers to help me on. I have noticed that there are very few pagan children's books out there like there are children's bible books. So I would like to start writing a pagan children's book but I am at a loss of what pagan myths and fairy tales to write. Also if anyone knows of any cool sims, costumes, furniture, etc that would go with their idea that would be awesome. Thanks and Blessed Be.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / What makes Sims reject hugs?
on: June 06, 2007, 07:09:32 pm

I tried looking for these particular hacks but I couldn't find them but maybe someone else knows. They are by Aikea Guinea ( I think the same person that made the wonderful bootcut pants meshes at TSR) and they look like the bella squared picture but with a different face. Anyway if someone can find those hacks they work really really well. I could see it looking really good for acting out a hug rejection.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Almost Back to Normal but need HELP
on: June 06, 2007, 07:03:16 pm
Just a side note, I have deleted my game in my docs and uninstalled my game so many times I wonder how I do things like feed myself or tie my shoes in the morning. So what I started doing is scheduling a restore point on my computer every few days and backing up my game. It sounds like alot of work but way less then starting completely over.
To create a restore point you go to start menu/control panel/performance and maintenance then on the upper left corner you will see System Restore and it will walk you through the process.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Sub-Download Folders?
on: June 06, 2007, 06:48:58 pm
I have three sub folders in my download folder. Global Hacks, Defaults, Everything Else. I used to kept sub folders for everything down to comfort, lighting, survices, clothing, etc. But I had sooo many duplicates and and duplicate meshes. With clean installer, delphy's download organizer, and squinge's hack conflict utility and I have no use for sub folders. I just have one for defaults and hacks so if I want to update them or change them I can replace and delete them. Besides if there is an object in game that you don;t want you can just delete there too. Here you can find the programs I was talking about: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=227925http://www.simwardrobe.com/http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/Of coarse, I am not an expert on this or a game programmer but I am just a gamer where murphy's law always reaks havoc on my game so I have had to fix alot of things.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Game Crashed
on: June 06, 2007, 06:35:48 pm
I have had things like this happen. I would not think that it is insimenator. But what I would do is use clean installer which you can get here http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/. Usually what I do before I sort by date is I scroll down and disable everything that is highlighted in red or pink. Usually that works. But every time I have had this same problem it was because of a corrupted wallpaper file, terrain paint file or some other small replaceable file. Or you can use Squinge's hack utility which you can get here: http://www.simwardrobe.com/. You may also want to pay attention and see how much ram your game is using, in my experience if it runs out of ram it will obvouisly crash. Usually you can help your ram by clearing out unwanted downloads or by getting more ram. You might want to also try a ram booster. Also check to see if your video card is up to date. Hope that helps.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Custom Paintings not appearing
on: June 05, 2007, 02:00:17 pm
I have the same thing happen, I only thing I could say it could be either the file itself or that it required an Ep that you don't have. Also when people upload paintings alot of times they don't post where to find them and then you have to search for them and might over look them. I just stated making custom paintings and it is way easy so you may want to try to make ones yourself. I made 50 custom paintings last night in one hour, it would take the same amount of time to download them. And they all worked and I knew exactly where they were. Here is a tutorial: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=95015If you have any problems just pm me. Make sure that you have cep files right in your downloads folder and not in a subfolder.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / What makes Sims reject hugs?

Beosboy, this may be alittle off the subject. But from what I gather you have to alter a sim's gender preference in simpe?? I have been making alot of single sims in my game and their preference is zero/zero?? And it is rare, at least in my game for a sim to be attracted to someone of the same sex. So to have gay sims in my game I have to create them in cas as a spouse of someone of the same sex. So I guess what my question is, how do I change that?? Also from what I read up there, it is not possible for a sim to be bisexual??
