10  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / is there an easy way to make clothe for my sim without to much difficulty on: November 10, 2007, 02:06:51 am
Unfortunately, if you want to make decent clothing you will need to learn the basics of a paint program such as GIMP or Photoshop.

You mention having difficulty copying and pasting, but you didn't say 'what' about the copying and pasting that is troubling you. What exactly are you trying to do? If you're trying to copy a t-shirt over another one that is a different shape, just copying and pasting won't suffice as your shirt would look weird in the game.
11  Simmers' Paradise / Sims Stories / Avelonia Brown - Updated with Parts I-IV (11/15/07) on: November 09, 2007, 11:29:25 am
Bravo! I'll definitely follow this story. I love how you created the hardcover. The #1 Best Seller really sells it. Can't wait to read more.

HOW COME I ONLY GOT A FEW REPLIES!IS THE STORY REALLY DUMB!?

It all depends on traffic and how talkative people are. Readers are probably less likely to say anything, yet they likely enjoy your story very much. Your story definitely isn't dumb.

You mention not getting many replies. Perhaps I can give you a few pointers.

A) Your title "My Story" doesn't say anything about your story or what it's about. When someone browses the story forums, it doesn't really get one's attention. You ought to be a bit more proactive when concerning titles.

B) A short description on what your story is about will help keep readers' interest. Is your story about romance, adventure, horror? They say never to judge a book by it's cover. However, a book with an illustrated cover and brief description will get a reader's attention over let's say, a book with a plain orange cover and no text.

C) Your pictures are okay, but that's all they are. Try taking them with the walls drawn up (not down) and add more objects to your scenes. Also, try experimenting with angles, lighting, etc. You may need to take several shots and choose the best one to add to your paragraph/page.

D) Most stories follow some sort of plot. Your story, as far as I could tell doesn't seem to follow a particular one. Back to that description, you ought to briefly summarize it. Check the link in my signiture. There is a mini description on my upcoming story. Readers need to know what they are getting into by reading your fiction.

Anyway, that is my two cents. So far, you are doing well. Just thought I'd give some tips. It's what my English teacher told me when I wrote stories in class. Thought I'd pass the info on.
13  Simmers' Paradise / The Shape of Stuff to Come / New Interactions/Animations on: November 09, 2007, 10:21:14 am
It won't be too much longer. I've got a series of adult animations made and are currently in testing stage. So far so good, however there is still work to do on them. Hopefully I'll have them released before Christmas.
14  Simmers' Paradise / Tutorials / Tutorial-Creating Custom Cars on: November 09, 2007, 10:03:38 am
Bloom, I could not have put it better myself. Thanks for your help and support on this thread. You're a real life saver. Smiley

Daz, if you use 3ds Max, you can apply an optimize modifier to reduce the poly count. Like Bloom suggested, it's good to use the Maxis rims and tires as they are already the perfect size, shape, and in proper position relative to their respective joints. They also have decent polygon counts. Another tip is to utilize the inside of the car (if fitting) as it illiminates the need for extra modelling. However, you may want to remap them depending on whether or not you utilize the original car's texture(s).
