Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Fatal Sims 2 Glitch! (Involves OFB)

There is a program that you can find HERE called the "Hack Conflict Detection Utility" which may help. You can find it under "Sims 2 --->Programs". It's possible that you have something in your Downloads folder that is conflicting with something in OFB and creating a fatal error.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / New video card

I installed a Radeon 9250 PCI card with 256MB in my wife's computer when she was having issues, and she hasn't had a problem since. She's currently running every EP/SP up through Seasons, and still running smooth. You can get the card pretty cheap at http://www.newegg.com

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Resolved: What happened to the SimPE Website or software?
|
on: March 21, 2007, 09:21:56 am
|
Thank you. I'd tried that without success yesterday, so I think you're right that my SimPE software... For whatever reason, it died.
I used to have the same problem with a media player program. It was set up to automatically update, and if the internet was down or the server was down, the media player wouldn't work because it couldn't get the updates it was looking for. I would recommend leaving the auto-updates disabled, and then maybe enabling it once or twice a week for an hour or so just to let it update, if it has any updates to get.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Need Some Info On University.....

My wife just had a similar problem and resolved it this way:
She moved one 'parent' to the new neighborhood first, and then moved the other in with them (it's called "merging families").
Boeketjebloemen's suggestion should also work, so now you have some choices! LOL

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Just Some Questions
|
on: March 21, 2007, 09:10:59 am
|
Thank you so much this is a lot of help but I have another question. Where do you get the simspe?and when you upload something to bodyshop does it already come packaged with the custom content? If you create a Sim in Bodyshop and package the Sim from Bodyshop, then it should include any 'custom content' that you used in creating the Sim. Community etiquette suggests that you give credit to the creators of the 'custom content' when posting your upload.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Is it my video card?
|

Smooth edges are greyed out in my gaming options i cant do anything with it If "Smooth Edges" is 'greyed out' on your options, then that means that your graphics card doesn't support the necessary 3D engines that the Sims 2 uses, which might also explain why your textures aren't as clear as you'd like them to be. I would recommend replacing your card at your earliest convenience. I can recommend a very good place to buy them from, which has great prices and excellent services (and NO, I don't work for them or get anything for suggesting them LOL).

Kendra (and anyone else coming back to this thread since it doesn't appear that Kendra has been here for a while), There's some good tips on making your computer more "Sims 2 Friendly" by visiting HERE.It's also possible that something else, maybe completely unrelated to the Sims 2 game, has corrupted or changed the computer's Registry settings, and might be resolved by doing a "System Restore" back to a point in time when everything else was working. Lastly, make sure that you have your Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware programs disabled when you boot up your Sims game. Even if the game "worked fine" with them running before, sometimes their 'updates' will begin interfering with the function of the game. Good luck.
