1  Simmers' Paradise / Modding Database / Re: Modifying an existing career on: September 24, 2011, 02:28:17 am
You have to extract the career (original without custom group), open it in Simpe and use the tool (Bidou's) and then you can change whatever you wish. When you are satisfied, take only the resources you are interested (delete the rest or just extract the ones you modified) and create a new package. Place it in the downloads folder and you have your changes.

If you are only wishing to take pictures, I don't think that the ones you show are having any special trick. I always take pictures this way and for the purpose I Build the house already with smaller rooms (like the one where the burglar is punching) as open room over a two etage high house that has no floor between them. So, this is not a trick but special constructions. If you place the camera on the second floor and there's no floor beneath, you will see both floors simultaneously.
3  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Re: Questions about texturing on: September 19, 2011, 02:41:38 am
If what you are doing is not clothing or hairs (I'm null on them), but an object like a doll for example, there are some easy things you can do. You talk about separating meshes (head and body) that seems to be together. If you are using Milkshape and is dealing with .obj, identify one of the parts (the head for example) and check if you can separate it from the body completely. If you can and nothing is deformed, delete the head and save the body with another name in a temporary folder (rename it and save). Then undo everything so that you have back the mesh the way it was before and this time invert the selection, so that you have now only the body selected. Delete the body and rename and save the head on the same folder you saved the body. Open UVmapper and uvmap both head and body separated but on a way that they are positioned not to overlap each other when together. Start new in Milkshape and import both uvmapped parts. You will have one object that you can recolor as two parts or if it is to be only one set, regroup it, when you extract the new uvmap, it will be already separated and won't overlap. If it helps.
4  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Something stupid related to uvmapping on: September 06, 2011, 01:47:17 am
I don't see anything shocking. My first though was also on the Enter key but it just accepted the map and didn't maximize it. So, I suppose that I should use it with something else. I'm not an office worker, I don't even care for functions. Thanks.
PS:
Checked again and I was right, It Doesn't work. At least for me, the information must be unuseful. I just know that I can use "/" to quarter and then I can use "*" to double. The "=" is just empty info. I thought that I had something to maximize it because many times the map is not accurate. So I don't consider my question totally stupid. I was looking for something that is not there. If I have any map that is not an exact fraction, I have to find another example that IS an exact fraction, the hell is to find out which. Most of the time when you start the uvmap, it says "this is not 100% blablabla, should it be corrected?" If you say "yes", the new correction doesn't match the texture and you have to stretch it to fit. If you say "no", you get a blank map.
5  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Something stupid related to uvmapping on: September 05, 2011, 06:49:18 am
I have a really stupid question. I checked everything I found about uvmapping but I'm stuck on the fact that it is stated that to maximize the map I have to click on the symbol "=" in the numerical pad. Help! Where the hell is the symbol "=" in the numeric pad? I don't have any! I use a swedish keyboard and the symbol "=" is located on the top of the number 0 (zero, null) and it doesn't work. Literally I pressed ALL the keyboard buttons and none works.  Does anyone know the answer? Thanks.  Embarrassed
6  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: I deleted my sims while they were at their resteraunt?! PLEASE HELP! on: September 05, 2011, 06:38:36 am
Is it possible to make changes from hood view, when the residents are out in a business lot? Isn't it like when they are on hollidays that the house is greyed until they come back? What are you really meaning? They disappeared after you Came Back from their restaurant? Or they disappeared while you were still there? 1) If they disappeared after you came back, you have simply to use a teleporter and summon them back to their house. 2) If they disappeared while you were at their restaurant, there must be someone left there otherwise the game self would reverse back to their home. It is this that happens when you go to hollidays and leave the lot without saving anything. Everything reverts back to the main hood. In this case it is much simpler. If you delete a sim on a business lot, it is the same as sending them back home, they won't come back because they are home. I think the whole thing is a bit confused.

Uh! Thanks Theraven for your link. I was only curious but from the list by that link, I found another link to someone named Maxwell that made self something that I was afraid to try though I was sure to be possible. It has nothing to do with the present case but it also about deletion. I was sure that this game could be reduced in size enough to fit probably whole crap in two DVDs. Thanks bunches. Ignore this post of mine Rumbecome, it deals on veeeery dangerous crap. I wanted only thank Theraven for the link.  Wink
8  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Is it safe to Delete? on: September 05, 2011, 02:41:57 am
If I'm not totally right, someone please correct me, but the only files that TS2 can read are .package and if you identified it in Windows (like you do automatically when you install Simpe), the extension won't even appear visibly. Anything that doesn't have the extension .package, is only stuffing your downloads (pics that are supplied inside the compressed .rar or .zip; readme files and others). The other good measure is to use the compressorizer to compress the files inside the downloads folder. Besides reducing enormously the size, it also updates all compressed files to the date of compression. It will be helpful when you install something else after compression that causes a problem. It is very easy to find it again when searching by date. Remember to compress only when you are not having any trouble. It is not necessary to install sims directly in the downloads folder if you are not very sure of what they contain. The clean installer gives you the option to install the files wherever you want, even in a separated drive. If you get files with very strange and unlogical names, open it in Simpe first and try to see what it is. If it is a special custom content that is very doubtful, prefer to go to the site page that contains this cc and read again what it is doing specifically. Do not include things in your downloads folder that you have no clue of what is it for crap.

Then follow the procedures suggested by Theraven, but always when playing vanilla, create a new hood first. It also avoids that when you solve the problem, you will have another left. When you take away all your mods or hacks, the game will sure produce a lot of things that you probably didn't want (like hundreds of butt ugly townies or npcs).
10  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Bodyshop does not stay alive! on: September 05, 2011, 02:15:02 am
Are you using the right version of Bodyshop? I mean, did you replace it by the version that comes with your last EP? Did you install any EP in other order than the release ones? Did it work before? If so, when did you notice the faillure? Did you install anything that can override system files? Does everything look right in CAS? (for example, does any of the thumbnails in CAS look like a child without hair, or a nude body where should be a dress or a hair?) Is anything behaving weird when you play the game, that could be related to a corrupted file? Did you verify if your shortcuts (the one you have in the desktop or quick launch) is pointing to the right folder? (the version inside your last EP).

Thanks, it is probably the way to go. Normally I'm not looking for anything in special, it is just some text that calls my attention and maybe I still keep much a cat curiosity.  Cheesy
12  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Re: Help finding Navetsea. on: September 03, 2011, 03:59:27 am
Skins are not meshes and there's no way to upload a sim and state that you should go to a site to load a skin.
The police says "My skin can be used/packed with sims anywhere in free sites". You are NOT editing her skin, you are Linking to another mesh. EA self made a packing tool that includes EVERYTHING, also meshes. I suppose they are telling you that it Should be allowed. If he is not answering any PM and disabled any kind of contact, I think the question here is to know if he is still interested on his own creations. I suppose active users have right to know if a creator is giving up participation.
13  Welcome to insimenator.org / Issues & Suggestions / Classification of Sims version? on: September 03, 2011, 02:24:59 am
Is it difficult to include a brief classification on the new posts that appear on the main page, so that you know immediately if it deals on TS2 or TS3? Sometimes you read something interesting and only after you clicked and entered the thread you get to know which game it is talking about. It would also avoid that you give or get wrong information and have to go back and include "oops! wrong game!" Thanks.
14  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Elder Male Swimwear crashes game on: September 02, 2011, 03:11:04 am
Oops! Swim wear are normally just simple recolors! Do you have any kind of replacements for defaults? Check for something wrong in it. If you don't even play elders, it is impossible that you downloaded a special mesh, so check for all recolors. It can also be something intended for adults that was enabled for elders and it doesn't work well, as for example, clothes meant for YAs, work very badly for elders.
15  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Debug errors/Possible corrupt files on: September 02, 2011, 03:07:13 am
Forget it. If you have the condition that you don't even click on an object, but just pass the mouse over it and your sims reset, the problem is much worse and it is sure NOT in the objects you are clicking. If it happens when you play Vanilla, then something is quite messed up in your game installation. What do you mean by play Vanilla? Did you remove everything and is playing a brand new hood? Or you just removed possible hacks and is playing the same old hoods? I don't know how to link you specifically, but I followed a link from someone at MTS2 that reported that when you remove hacks and objects from your downloads folder, the game self produces a bhav that shouldn't be there and it is almost like if you had hacks, when you in fact, have none. I'm not in my place right now and have to go to my computers to check for the name of the crap that has to be eliminated. I'll be back as soon as possible, if I find it.
PS: the name of the mod is "LBF-RemoveMaxisSocialTest", but you have to run a search self, because I normally change the names of the files if they are connected this way "LBF_Remove_Maxis_Social_Test" or alike. It causes me trouble, so I change them as rule. I never investigated what the mod does actually, you just put it in the downloads folder, preferably on your folder that loads last. It doesn't hurt.
