16  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Bodyshop does not stay alive! on: September 02, 2011, 02:57:41 am
Bodyshop sections produces besides the two files with extention "cache", a file named cigen, that is unuseful and can also be deleted and a sort of register file. In the total BS produces 4 unuseful files that in fact should be deleted. I don't know the purpose because it doesn't make the tool faster or more reliable, more to the contrary.
Normally the game logs are also unuseful for someone that cannot read them. A trick that can help is to make a copy of the log file that you cannot read to another place (desktop for example) and change its extention to .txt and open it in notepad. If there's any readable text inside the file, notepad will read it even if very trunked.

Yes, you may delete all the extentions .package.package because it means that you extracted sims or sims objects using the sims installer. They are not necessary. If Windows gives you a warning such as "if you change the name, the file can be unreadable", just ignore it and proceed.
18  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF woo hoo cinematic hack? on: August 30, 2011, 02:40:55 pm
Some of the cinematics are pulled from bhavs. At least I disabled the childbirth cinematics this way.

This would be super. If you remember where you found it, could you bump back? My problem is exactly to get rid of the wardrobe stuff. Have been checking a way to mod it self, but it involves the bhavs MoveIn/MoveOut that alone are already a big trouble. I don't care if it is a tool off-game. Thanks.
21  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / WCIF - Mod to avoid clothing in inventory on: August 20, 2011, 06:30:21 am
Does anyone know if there's a mod that avoids that Clothing which sims grow into, is added to the family inventory. I'm particularly interested on avoiding that Young Adults throw all the garbage in the house inventory. My Uni is a school with uniform and though I unabled all clothing to YAs, they continue finding a piece of crap to add to the inventory.
There's no reason to have a lot of shop clothing racks, if they continue filling up the wardrobe at random. Thanks.
22  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF: Servo Sim at CAS? on: August 20, 2011, 06:24:38 am
If you find one, please tell me. So far the Servo is not customable. You can create a Sim that looks like a Servo (if you want one  huh ). You have only to extract the meshes and make it available in CAS, but you are not going to create the creature at all.
23  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Need help with The Sims 2? on: August 20, 2011, 02:33:09 am
Don't forget to run Hack Conflict Detector to see if you have two mods using the same bhav. I don't know this Multialarm, but if there's something to do with the burglar, I suggest you think twice to use it. The burglar bhavs affect much more things than you think. If it is, what are you trying to do, to avoid the burglar? or just be informed that he is on the lot? Everytime you use the option "reset" to correct a mistake, it throws a log in the Logs folder. To turn the testcheat off is a good thing because sometimes you know that the mod is not the best in the world, but it does what you want to do and it is just a temporary solution until you find a better way to do it. To turn it on, will just make your game practically unplayable because it stops the game for Everything, even the smallest thing that can be even insignificant. Some errors do no make your game unplayable, the normal course of the game causes problem because we always want that it does What We Want. It is simple, otherwise no one would mod it. The slow down of your game can have been caused even by a command that your sim cannot respond. You know the game is composed of automatic commands that are send to the sims all the time. It can be : Send a wolf, or Send a Stray, or Make this or that, and you have a mod that doesn't allow this. So the game will continue sending the command over and over again until it is satisfied. And will do this until there's no more memory available and your game freeze or crash. You have to find what is causing it and find a new solution. Maybe your game is trying to send a burglar, it is a math calculation that is on the background full time.
24  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: I deleted my sims while they were at their resteraunt?! PLEASE HELP! on: August 19, 2011, 01:59:04 am
Use Simpe to localize where they are in the game. You can either continue to use Simpe and put them back to their original home, or check if they are not having data problems. If they don't, you can use teleporters (try Inge's) to summon them to their house and move them in. If they are totally messed up, it is much better that you create another sim in CAS, move him in the household, make the messed up parents to adopt the new household member, so he become big brother to the kids that are alone and care for them. Afterwards, kill the parents. You can try all the available objects and tools to correct messed up folks (JM has some, Inge has some, others must have some). Do not delete playables when they are not home, unpredictable things can happen. A normal residential lot include several invisible objects that are active and you don't even know where they are located. A house is more than a home, it is the meeting point for a lot of EA's objects without meshes. Try first to go to their original household and use any tool that have the option to recover the household back (the insiminator has it, other tools must also have something).
If you have to go to the option to kill the missing sims, move all the survivors to the family bin and start fresh in a new house, bulldoze the old one. In fact you should periodically move your sims to non-played houses and delete the old ones. Houses become a real trash bin in the course of the game. If you have favourite houses, keep a copy in a separated empty hood, or pack them for eventualities.  Next time you get in troubles in a commlot, leave without saving. It is much better than deal with the consequences.

Looks beautiful but no one makes a video to look worse.  Cheesy
I agree, the sims still look crap. I love pets and would buy it (if they took out the sims)  Grin
26  Simmers' Paradise / Skintones / Re: Plantsim default skintone that is not "green" on: May 09, 2011, 04:28:16 am
Thanks for the link eefje, it looks good, but I'm wishing something much more dramatic. They look more to humains that ate something doubtful for lunch and started to feel vegetablish. I want something that seems that plants are developping human characteristics, that you have almost the feeling that a tree is mutating humanlike. The green plant on the head is not that bad. A human plant should be this way, a strong stalk with some green shots on limbs and top. I never played the plant thing because it is far toooooo childish for me. I'm changing the coding for a friend but I have to test the crap in my game and I have very sensible stomatch. (I'm vegetarian!, so I eat them!)  Grin
27  Simmers' Paradise / Skintones / Plantsim default skintone that is not "green" on: May 05, 2011, 05:51:20 am
I'm looking for a default replacement skintone for the plantsim thingie, but one that is not green at all. In fact I wished a brownish skin that looked more to a tree stalk (tronc d'arbre) enough worked to look like a tree but not too much to look like a monster. Something like a strong tree like body and a more sensible and fine texture for the face. The lighting for the skin I think has to be reduced to almost a mat surface so that it looks dry but not dead. It requires a very good skintone maker to get a good result. Thanks.
28  Simmers' Paradise / Objects & Recolors / Re: Special sized mattress (single bed) on: May 04, 2011, 12:39:05 pm
I want a double bed like mine, that are two single bed mattrasses placed on the top of a double bed mattrass that I can separate into two beds if I want.  Cheesy
I have been thinking about creating a single bed that is thin enough to enter in the middle of the two single beds and close the gap. As beds are linked to the bedding it could be interesting. I just wonder if sims will try to sleep on the thin bed. I have Inge's mod that makes sim reach even beds that are stored on a basement without doors, so I'm afraid they will try.  Undecided.
I tried the thing you said about exporting gmdc to MS instead of obj and the little oven worked well (animations were kept), but tried to do the same with the bed and just got the message that there were too many morphs to import - goodbyed on my face. I'm progressing like a wheel (square!)
29  Simmers' Paradise / Objects & Recolors / Re: Special sized mattress (single bed) on: May 04, 2011, 03:06:40 am
No, what I want are two Single beds that are not modified in any function but the mesh. I mod the bed self, I need two meshes where the single bed is increased in size in one of the sides, that is, one single bed that has the Left side a little bit wider and another that has the Right side wider so that both meet in the middle and look like a double bed. It is very difficult to mod double beds because you always end up with errors. I tried many other solutions not involving the bed meshing, it is looks OK but not good enough and involves a lot of moveobjects. I wish to place two single beds together inside a double bed frame. It is for a full project that involves a lot of things I'm developping for a friend. It's almost done but the bed problem is still on the way.
If you still don't understand what I mean, place two single beds, one on the side of the other and you'll see the gap in the middle - this is the gap I want to fill up. Thanks.
30  Simmers' Paradise / Objects & Recolors / Special sized mattress (single bed) on: May 03, 2011, 07:16:26 am
Is it possible for someone that can create new beds (animated and useable sheets), to create a special sized mattress-bed for me? It is not to reduce the size but to increase it on the sides so that two mattress-beds can be placed together and simulate a double bed. I know that two beds have to be created, one for the left and one for the right, so that everything fits together. I'm dealing with creatures that I want they do not mix up with normal sims, do not use the same objects, do not sleep in same beds, things like that. I can create most of the objects but I don't have presently time for much reading to learn how to deal with game animated objects. It can be created two cheap single beds and just eliminate the frame once I actually need only the mattress. Any help is deeply appreciated. Thanks.
