31  Welcome to insimenator.org / The Welcome Wagon / Re: Hello again on: September 18, 2019, 06:13:48 am
There are very few forums nowadays as many people prefer to use their own tumblrs, simblrs, WordPress sites and the like for sharing their creations.

ModTheSims has many downloads still and the MTS Sms2 Forums http://www.modthesims.info/forumdisplay.php?f=558 are still quite active.

You will also want to read some of the MTS forum topics on essential mods (to avoid corruption) and latest finds (there are still people creating for TS2!).
32  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: Question about crossdressing males on sims? on: August 28, 2019, 09:49:53 am
You can use separated bottoms and tops instead. If you use only male tops that are untucked, you can simply get all female bottoms and enable them for males in Bodyshop. The untucked shirt hides the difference between the male top and female bottom, so you have males dressed as females (with high heel inclusive) without boobs.

do you know how to convert the gender of a cloth in bodyshop? how do I do this?

If you are trying to do what was mentioned above and only make some of the female bottom separates available for men, then you don't have to worry about the neckline. And using untucked men's tops may cover up the mis-matched meshes at the waist. But you still cannot do this in BodyShop. To make a bottom separate available to both genders, you would edit the package file for that separate in SimPE, find the Property Set and change the Gender entry to 0x03. (0x01=female, 0x02=male, 0x03=both).

I've never done this exact thing so I don't know how good it will look. The untucked shirt may still show a crease or gap in it at the waist.

BrittBratt has a website : https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/bluemoon_productions/. Her profile there shows she was last active there a week ago.

She also has a tumblr account. I can't tell how often she checks it but you also may be able to ask there. https://brittbratt4567.tumblr.com/ask

Is this the path that you are using for the UC version of BodyShop?
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\CSBin\TS2BodyShop.exe"
Since your CC shows in game but not in BodyShop, it leads me to think that your BodyShop isn't the right one for UC and therefore can't find your CC.

After my Sims go on maternity leave, their job instantly goes to career level 10. huh I'm not sure but was there a mod to fix this?
For which game is this happening and what EPs/SPs, etc, do you have besides the base game, if any?

If this is happening in Sims2, then it is not normal or default behavior and you probably have some mod which is causing it to happen. Remove your mods and see if it recurs. Then you can slowly add your mods back in and test (quit without saving so you can keep testing) until you determine which mod is the culprit.

I cannot speak to other versions of Sims games.

I have a "chriko_Nudebody_MESH.package" included in a download from more than 10 years ago -- "chriko_RosaUW2.rar".

Since I can't figure out how to attach the RAR file here, if you PM me an email address I will send it there.

41  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Saved sims game sims2 on: November 13, 2018, 12:07:48 am
Yes, it is possible. I've changed computers at least three times over the years and still have my original circa 2005 neighborhood playable on my newest computer. I haven't gone to Win 10 yet though. I'm still using Win 7. I don't know if that makes a difference.

On your old computer, you will need to save the entire "The Sims 2" folder (or "The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection" folder if you are running it) which is found under My Documents/EA Games. Eventually you will replace the new game's folder with this one.

Once you install the new game (and have run a quick test to verify that the game works), move that new computer's "The Sims 2" folder someplace for safe keeping. (So you can put it back again without having to do a complete reinstall should this not work the way you expect. It won't have much in it since it is a brand new install.) Then copy the saved folder from the old computer to where that new folder had been and try the game again. It "should" work. If it doesn't, you can swap the folders back and have the new folder with the new game once again.

If the installed EPs/SPs don't match between the old and new computers, then this most likely will not work.

Good luck!

42  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: My sims 2 keeps crashing! on: October 02, 2018, 06:30:58 am
As Theraven suggested, try running the game "vanilla" before installing any custom contents, i.e. with a completely empty Downloads folder (not just with CC disabled). If the game doesn't work then, it says there is a problem with your install.

If it does work, then try adding in your CC a little at a time and trying the game each time you do. That will tell you which item(s) are causing problems.

Almost every mod has some requirement of the EPs it needs. When you download those mods, you must pay attention to those requirements. If you install a mod into your Downloads folder which you don't meet the requirements, it can crash your game.

You have a teen-maternity!.package file in your Downloads. I'm not familiar with that mod, but it could conflict with InTeen. Conflicting mods can also cause your game to crash.

You have txt, rtf, and rar files in your Downloads folder. Sims2 uses package files, so those other files will be ignored. It is best to move them to some other folder other than your game folders if just to avoid confusion.
43  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: SimPE Question, Please Help on: July 25, 2018, 02:54:46 pm
My Sims3 playing was short-lived, so I don't know what was possible there. For Sims2 and saving space, the only times I've heard of combining multiple clothing items into one package file is when they share either textures or meshes with the other items in the package file. Chris Hatch did that frequently with the clothing used for all the female bodyshapes in his expansions. He may have an account here although he has been active at the Mamba City site. Chris would be a good person to ask if no one here knows of a way.

More often, I've heard of people using some sort of compression program on their Downloads to reduce the space used. I'm not sure what it is nor do I know anything about it. Perhaps someone can give you more information about that if you don't find anything doing an Internet search. I've not used any compression for my Sims2 files. I would proceed carefully with that though as that could have a risk of making the files unreadable by the game.

I have more than 20 GB and nearly 50,000 files in my Downloads folder. The "tidying" I do for the files is arranging them in subfolders by age and bodyshape or by function. In the game I use the BodyShop Organization Kit (BSOK) to sort like sized clothing together in CAS and BodyShop. I've not combined files or compressed them. They're still in "normal" Sims2 form.

45  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Blue thumbnails in the buy mode/build mode catalog... on: April 08, 2018, 10:18:58 am
I agree with Theraven - it likely is slaved items missing their master mesh.

Within CAS, I believe it is CTRL+RightClick that will refresh the thumbnail for an individual item but I'm not 100% positive on that. Unfortunately that doesn't work in BodyShop only in CAS.

Deleting the Thumbnails file is safe. The pictures are rebuilt as needed. But it is a royal PITA when you have a large amount of CC. The images are rebuilt as you scroll through your CC. So each screen takes an extra second (or two) to display as the thumbnails get rebuilt. Scrolling all the way through your everyday clothing, for example, may take 10 minutes where before it may have taken one. So while it is safe to do, deletion of the thumbnails can cause some frustration. Every single thumbnail in every clothing/makeup category, even for items not blue, has to be rebuilt.
