2  Simmers' Paradise / I Want My Own Thread / Re: Ed's World Of Sims - Disasters And Other Dramatic Things... on: November 04, 2013, 02:00:46 pm
Rather than add any more aliens to this (there's really only one more) I'm going to jump straight to what I'm working on at the moment.

It's a segment from a very long story I'm working on that features Gadget Hackwrench and Chip as two of the main characters in the segment.

These pictures were created using all kinds of OMSPs, mods, poseboxes and other tricks. The pictures were edited and special effects added using Paint.NET.

There's a lot of pictures here so, rather than post them all to an image hosting site and then posting them here I decided to post them to a filesharing site I use and displaying them as a slide show, which is much easier.

Note: this is as much of the segment as I've completed up to this point. Yes, this is a a lot of work!

You can view the story segment at this link.

Thanks and I hope you enjoy it.

Awesome stuff, Mooncat! Nice to see your pics being posted here.
7  A Safe Haven / General Discussion / Re: What are you currently doing (besides being here)? on: October 26, 2012, 11:26:00 am
Kicking back after wrestling with the complexities of tweaking a new nVidia GTX series video card and working on a ton of new Sims 2 comic book style stories, again. Life is good! Me a happy camper! (Oh, and shout outs to Mooncat and Lucky Seven!)

Awesome! And she looks like the redhead girl from Buffy The Vampire Slayer, who I always thought was incredibly cute, anyway. Great job, hon. Well done!
9  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Re: Bleeding mesh on: August 25, 2012, 08:49:20 pm
Unfortunately, the only solution is to export the mesh out of the package, reshape it in milkshape and re import it into your game. Yeah, I know... A lot of work but, if you really want it to work that's what you'll have to do.
10  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Re: Bleeding mesh on: August 24, 2012, 12:15:11 pm
I have to wonder if it's a texture problem or a problem with a misaligned mesh? What I mean: An example would be if you took General Zoi's short jacket accessory (made for the Maxis default body shape) and put it on, say, a Sim using the Fit Chick or Rio body shape then the breasts, shoulders and other parts would bleed or poke through the jacket texture. Is that what you're talking about?

Note the images above. Does your item "bleed through" like that? If so then it's a mesh problem and it has nothing to do with the alpha texture and the mesh, itself, needs to be modified to fit the body shape. (A lot of work, I know, but what can you do?)
11  The Sims 3 / Pudding WCIF / Re: WCIF Non tech things on: August 17, 2012, 05:05:41 pm
One place I'd definitely suggest is The Sims 2 Graveyard where you can find a huge assortment of older but still perfectly fine files from some truly awesome creators who either don't have their sites up, anymore, or have retired and removed their content from here, Mod The Sims 2 and other sites. As I recall, there's lots and lots of exactly the kind of things you're looking for, although it may take a little work looking through the stuff. Still, looking at all those great downloads is part of the fun, isn't it?

Beatles - Abbey Road - Because. (Because I'm old, that's why!) LOL!
13  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Help / Re: Error 12 Issues (Gave Save Issues) on: August 17, 2012, 04:55:11 pm
I know this is an old post but I have something that should help a lot to end the error 12 memory access problem. (Note: Don't do this if you have a video card that doesn't support cuda or high res, is less than 64 bit throughput or can't render beyond 1024x768)

(Protip: be sure to back up/copy your original exe file in case you have problems later on. Not all computers/video cards can handle having Sims access more memory than it was designed to so be very careful with this!)

First, go to this site and download the Process Explorer Suite and install it.

Next, go to the TSBin folder that contains your latest EP (such as Apartment Life)

Right click on the EP execute file and open it in CFF Explorer.

On the left you'll see a window that contains a tree (list) of items.

Find and click on File Header.

To the right you'll see another window. At the bottom of that window you'll see an item called "Characteristics". Look to the right and you'll see where it says "click here".

A popup window will open that has many check boxes in it.

Look for and check the item that says "app can handle > 2 gb address space"

Save and close the program.

Your launcher is now configured to handle more than two gigs of memory!

If you have a powerful enough video card, a powerful enough processor and a good, general PC setup than this should solve your memory error 12 problem.

14  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Help / Re: Help: No sims on community lots on: August 17, 2012, 04:45:38 pm
Do you have story mode in Sims 3 turned on or off? If on then no townies will show up in the game.
15  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: i cant get the cars in sim 2 to stay HELPPPP on: August 17, 2012, 04:42:59 pm
ive been having trouble placeing my sims 2 cars and i dont understand whats wrong it comes up wit the object error dose any one know how to fix it???
PLEASE HELP MEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!1
and i dont know in my game files what the cars r called to get emm out of game

Okay, here's a method that's fairly easy and works well for me but it will require some work on your part so be ready to roll up your sleeves and get to it.

First, it's obvious you didn't have problems with your game until you downloaded and installed some cars to your game so that helps to eliminate having to look through your whole download folder to find the problematic download.

Next, crank your memory up, go on Google and do a search for Sims 2 cars. Look for and find the ones you most recently downloaded and added to your game.

Go to the download link and click download but *do not* download the file. *open* the file in winzip or winrar, instead.

When the file opens in winzip/winrar (or whatever you use) *write the file name (package name) down on a piece of paper.

Do this until you've located all of the cars you recently downloaded and make notes of the package names.

Next, go to your Sims 2 downloads folder and do a search *using those file names you wrote down*. Either delete or move those files to another folder and then restart your game to check to see if you're cars work, now.

Protip: If you have expansion packs up to Open For Business (I believe, don't quote me on that) then you can put *sub* folders in your Sims 2 downloads folder. If you can do that then you should definitely make a subfolder called "test". This is where you would put all new, future downloads so you can test them out in your game, first, then remove them easily if they cause problems. This will save you a ton of grief and headaches in the future.
