46  Simmers' Paradise / Sims Life Stories Help / Need Help! on: July 29, 2008, 03:37:19 pm
Extract the files on your desktop, then copy the files, and paste them in c:/my documents/ Electronic Arts/SLS/Downloads.

You don't have this folder in SLS, and you have to create it: right-click-new-folder, then change the name to Downloads (case sensitive).

Be careful. SLS accepts only CC that requires only TS2. If you download CC that requires any EP - you won't see it in the game.
47  Simmers' Paradise / Sims Life Stories Help / 5 sims on one lot! on: July 27, 2008, 08:48:49 pm
He he, you "puzzled" the simulator. It can't send a message that the lot has too many sims, because it's his own fault that it gave you twins from the beginning...Smiley.

So happy for you!  It works, because you forced the EA Download Manager to check automatically if you are registered, and responds positively. Stupid Manager!
I asked a fellow simmer, and she warned me not to download any game from EA, but to buy the CD Rom. Otherwise, I will have the same problems as yours.

Thanks for the info! Smiley
50  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / I'm having a problem with Bon Voyage. Help? on: July 21, 2008, 08:52:34 pm

Is your active sim a teen?  Teens can't get a massage.
Is your active sim pregnant?  Pregnant sims can't get a massage either.

Thanks, Ancient, I didn't think of that possibility at all...Smiley
51  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / What's your take on Securom? on: July 21, 2008, 12:17:05 pm
I don't have any problem with the Securom - I only have to restart my computer, after surfing, or updating something in any of my files. After that, all works fine, no crashes, no nothing.

You have some hack that prevents the interaction (usually the first suspect is the Inteen). Drag your hacks folder to your desktop, restart computer (Securom), and see if the interaction is available; then begin to search the culprit.

If you have the registration key - enter EA shop (not EA support), and try to register again your game. The EA shop is responsible for activating your game.

Contact their support team - not TS2 support team - if you have problems, and send them your registration key. If you have a copy of the order number of the game (I always keep it, just in case) - they can check faster, and lead you how to activate the game.

For instance, here is an e-mail from a company that I bought from it a game:

"GameHouse Receipt for: Lily (deleted)
Order # (deleted by me)

You are receiving this email because an order that you placed has been processed.

The following item is downloadable:

Item:      [name of the game - deleted by me]

If you have not already done so, download this product at:
http://downloads.gamehouse.com/funpass/HiddenObjectShowInstall.exe

Sub Total: $19.95
Sales Tax: $0.00
Shipping:  $0.00
Total:     $19.95

Below is the registration information for your games.
If you have already installed a game, skip to Step #3.
Follow the instructions below for each item to properly register your games.

Step #1: Download your game
Step #2: Install Your game
Step #3: Enter your license code
Step #4: Enjoy!

IMPORTANT:
GameHouse uses a registration system to unlock trial games to the REGISTERED VERSION.
When you install a game for the first time, it will be in TRIAL MODE.
After you purchase a game, it should start immediately upon launch.
If it does not, click the Register tab and enter your License Name and License Code to enable the REGISTERED VERSION.

If you have any questions, concerns, or problems with this order,
please see our Frequently Asked Questions at http://www.gamehouse.com/support

I don't have any experience with EA downloaded games, but I buy many downloaded games from other companies.

After I download a trial version for one hour, I can buy the full version (credit card or PayPal), and then the company activates my downloaded game, by  e-mailing me a "registration key". I enter the registration key, and can play the game.

If your game was not registerred, and then you did register it - they have the registration key for your game (which is unique), and should e-mail it to you.

It's weird, that your game depends on being a member of EA. Many times EA site goes down for tech maintenance, and then I have to login again.
You have to ask for your registration key, to activate your game.

May be if you say good bye, and the sim leaves the lot, the goal will change. As long as the sim is in the lot, the goal won't change.
56  Simmers' Paradise / Sims Life Stories Help / Propose option is gone on: July 11, 2008, 10:16:34 pm
Do you talk about Castaway? Take off the Inteenimator, and see is the option appears. Inteen does a lot of troubles in this mini-game.
57  Simmers' Paradise / Sims Life Stories Help / Pregnancy on: July 09, 2008, 05:25:14 am
I don't think so. Sims Life Stories is very sensitive to mods, and can stop running with this kind of mod.

59  Simmers' Paradise / Sims Life Stories Help / restart storyline on: July 03, 2008, 11:10:12 pm
You can always restart a new story line, building a new sim: when you are in the tutorial section, click on the small head at the upper right, and a window will be openned, to let you create a sim, and then play a new story with him.

I have my own "trick": I reinstall the game only once. Then I copy the whole Castaway original folder, and paste it in a different place (my D driver).

When I am tired of playing with the present characters - I copy the original  folder, and paste it instead of the existing played one. Did it already many times without any problems.
60  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / The game refuses to work now. Why? on: June 23, 2008, 09:46:32 pm
The hot males you downloaded demand higher EP than the basic TS2 (hair, clothes, makeup, etc). Take off (drag to the desktop) your Downloads folder, and see if the game works fine.

Suggestion: Install your sims as usual (to TS2), then open the Body Shop, and change their skins, clothing, eyes, hair to TS2 basic features. Package the files, and install them with the Clean Installer to the Downloads folder of the game. It should work fine now.
